To say that we were disappointed was an understatement. We had stayed here April 2013 and loved it so were eagerly looking forward to a return stay When we arrived and checked in we were given the keys to Bush Bungalow 21 - I queried this as we booked, paid and requested Bush Bungalow in December 2013 and were told... Recently attended a wedding here but we were quite disappointed with the accommodation. They host a number of weddings here but we had to hunt down an iron & ironing board. The decor in the bungalows is pretty tired with holes in the curtains and flat pillows, dirty toilet bowl and cobwebs. My greek salad at dinner....the lettuce had seen... More

This was our first campsite on our 5 week journey through NT and Northern Queensland. It was an excellent choice and one of only two I had pre booked from the UK. The site was wonderful, lots of grass still which at the end of the dry is very good. The shady trees were a bonus and great to sit... More

We loved this! it was like being sent to stay with your lovely auntie in Australia, comfortable room that felt really far away from everyone else even though it wasn't, excellent onsite walks and a really enjoyable river cruise. Our room was quite far down the lawn which I liked, the food was good and hosts really friendly and knowledgeable... More

We only were able to stay one night, but enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. The cruise on the river was lovely sighting some crocs in the wild was great without them being unnaturally tempted to come close with food, like other croc cruises in the area. Staff were ok though, did find the reception slightly rude and was a little disappointed... More

We had a single night, mostly because we were in transit to Kakadu. The kids enjoyed make your own pizza. The campsite was tidy and the amenities good. Never got around to using the pool but it looked inviting. Friendly and helpful staff. We'd go again.

We were a bit apprehensive about what we would find at MRWR after a miserable stay in a shabby and outrageously expensive cabin at Kakadu Lodge, Jabiru. Our fears quickly melted away. The staff members were all welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Being the end of the "hot dry", domestic tourists had started flocking home south, and in early September we... More

We visited towards the end of the dry season so the vegetation was very brown and lifeless and the wildlife were hiding from the intensity of the sun. However we had the best time because the hosts, Rogan and Bron run such a great touring experience. Simone our guide was excellent and we visited many aboriginal rock art sites as... More

What a lovely little gem this place is. Only a short drive from Darwin, the beautifully kept gardens are lovely to walk around. We stayed in one of the bush bungalows, which was very neat and comfortable. The property relies on bore water which is potable, but tastes a little funky. A bottle of complimentary bottled water is provided but... More

The Mary River Wilderness Retreat is an awesosome place to stay. My Husband I stayed for 4 days recently and had a great time whilst there. The staff, amenities, activities to do whilst there and general location were 10/10. It is peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful, whilst close enough to do many day trips, especially to Kakadu, in itself a must... More
