We had a powered site at the caravan park. The service was friendly and the site was lush with trees. There are a couple of nice walking tracks you can do. Options to hire a bike, buggy or boat. Wallabies hang out and birds. We were lucky enough to glimpse a turtle at the billabong. Would stay here again.

We went camping for the weekend. Arrived late afternoon and paid for our powered camping spot. We also booked into dinner - we had a choice 6pm or 730pm - so we chose 730pm. Went to set up the tent and a walk before dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant at 725pm - we were told by the very... More

Enjoyed a really special stop here amidst the lush trees Lots of bird life , kangaroos and crocodiles in the river The park a mixture of cabins, unpowered sites and I stayed in a powered site here A chance to sit , simply be and indeed found this place one of my favourites so far The friendly folk here were... We stayed in the caravan park. The sites are shady and large and well grassed. This is the place to stay if you want peace and relaxation right on the banks of the picturesque Mary River. There are powered and unpowered sites and many great spots for tents and camper trailers. The park itself has walks that meander through the... More

The Mary River Wilderness Retreat has it all, from the green lawns which were a welcome site in a very dry landscape, the beautiful accommodation (we had a pool side bungalow) however all the accommodation and facilities were great including the camp grounds with the beautiful shady trees. It was great not having a television in our room as we... More

We stayed here two nights in a bungalow for two adults and two kids. The cabin was clean , but with no cooking facilities. We hired a boat for 3 hours and saw lots of crocs with little effort. The resort pool was lovely and the grounds had lots of wallabies. We ate at the restaurant one night and food... More

Only had 2 nights here during our trip in NT and stayed on a powered site. Close proximity to facilities and beautiful river. Staff were friendly and informative from booking in to checking out. Plenty of walks to do around the grounds we did the billabong walk on foot but bikes or buggys can be hired. Took advantage of the... More

A 4 day tour of the Top End visiting many interesting places including Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks, was a dream come true. The experience was made that much better by having Barrie, our guide and Rogan, our driver of the very comfortable bus, looking after us. Mary River Wilderness Retreat is surrounded by beautiful grounds that also has a... More

We stayed here at the end of May 2015 in a pool side bungalow. This is a fantastic location with the Mary river backing onto the property. The room was basic but clean. A kettle and coffee/tea are provided along with a small fridge. Mozzies were everywhere outside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good camp kitchen... More

The Mary River Wilderness Park is a great place for nature lovers. The grounds are frequented by groups of wallabies, birds call in the trees and there are three nature trails to walk, should you be so inclined. Crocodiles may live in the billabongs, but that is only to be expected in the NT. Our cabin was on the outskirts... More
