Brought my cousin who's in Sydney for the first time and it was great showing him the Australian Pub culture. The staffs were friendly and always with a smile on. It is pleasant to see such a smile without paying a high cost meal. The vegetarian pizzas were good and did not disappoint us. They also have a small selection... More

if you want an original colonial building, this is it. We stayed at the hotel for a couple of nights & was very good, the bed was very comfortable. We also ate there, if you go, you have to try their pizzas, they're out of this world. They are that good, even some of the Australian cricket team was eating... More

I was a bit sceptical about staying in an old hotel above a pub, but my wife and I ended up having a terrific week. The service was outstanding and went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. It was a bit noisy on the weekends but we had no trouble falling asleep. The room doesn't have AC... More

Found this place while looking for a lunch spot near the Rocks area. We really enjoyed sitting outside with a couple beers and wine. Their pizzas were awesome - and the service was good. Love the architecture of the place. A great place to sit and relax in while visiting the city.

One of the best pubs in The Rocks. This place was so good I kept going back every night I stayed in The Rocks. It has the feel of a pub that has been looked after and cared for over the years which adds to the atmosphre. The staff were all friendly and very helpful, the beer was superb and... More

Have been using this place as a meet up with family for years. Absolute delight in having all the beers available, good wine selection, great atmosphere and of course the weird and wonderful pizza selection (must have the duck!). A must do for anyone visiting Sydney looking for something different, handy for the Rocks markets.

My wonderful partner proposed to me on the summit of the sydney harbour bridge and as we waited for our hotel top be ready, we came to this wonderful pub. The staff were the most amazing, caring people i have ever met. They treated us like royalty and have us a bottle of champagne to congratulate us. Such gorgeous staff,... More

It wasn't until I'd made the booking I realised the hotel only has shared bathrooms. Arriving in Sydney on a sweltering day, we found it doesn't have air-conditioning either. But over the next few days we fell in love with this quirky Edwardian pub. There are three shared bathrooms, and they are well appointed and clean. The rooms are also... More

Staying next door at the YHA, the Australia is a natural choice. The pizzas are good (kangaroo, emu, other unusual toppings) and the beer is excellent (well, as Aussie beer goes anyway!). Try the "69" if it's on tap - wonderfully fruity. Friendly staff as well

This is an interesting abode. Not for the more mature traveller. Rooms basic, maintained daily. Breakfast included (cereals etc ). This is ideal for the younger traveler, late nights are recommended as the bar downstairs does not close until midnight. Very well situated in the rocks area of Sydney. Has a fantastic selection of beers and the food is not... More
