I think the overall rating here is a little too low, but you have to be looking for this type of place to enjoy it. First of all, the view of Sydney from the roof/rooms is phenomenal and I would pay for that in itself. The rooms appear to be a little dirty, but the bed sheets are clean and... More

The staff here were nice and friendly, and helpful, but the hostel itself is pretty worn down and not that clean. Rooms are small with not much room to out your bags. In a bit of a dodgy area as well. Never really felt very comfortable or settled there.

The hostel is terribly worn down, the carpets, walls and everything has holes in it, dirt on it. Bathrooms are kind of ok, you can survive, but it is always dirty, always someones hair everywhere, flooded, mold on the walls. The room was in a better shape than the rest and didn't have that awful smell like the rest.

Really well located next to the train station, the area is the red light district though. Staff were friendly and managed to squeeze me in on one of the busiest weekends in Sydney. It was clean and has a unique style. The room I stayed in was a twin and someone had settled in and was a dirty person. One... More

I was a bit concerned after reading the reviews below before staying here. But I don't think they are a fair portrayal of the hostel. The hostel staff are super friendly and helpful on check in. They offer a good deal on late checkout also. Pre turning up I was tricky customer with changes of bookings etc but they always... More

Staff were friendly, the hostel was acceptably clean. access wise very well located but king crossing is not very decent area (lots of prostitutes, strip bars etc.) I recommend it for solo travelers, you can meet friendly people there and make friends. Guests were mostly from UK. one thing you should know: Everyone was either high or drunk most of... More

I stayed here for a couple of nights in march and it was just a bit strange. The staff were helpful and the place was clean enough but the people it attracts were all quite weird, mainly either drunk or drugged. It's in quite a good location but equally I wouldn't choose to stay in kings cross again. Average place... More

I decided that I didn't want to stay in one of the big chain hostels while I was travelling Australia. I must say I wasn't disappointed. The approach in this small, cozy, shabby maybe a wee bit dirty hostel is personal and feels like some sort of extended family. Because it's small you make a lot of friends easily and... More

The hostel is dirty and shabby. We got bitten to pieces by mosquitos in the bedroom and the living room so make sure to wear lots of bug spray here! If you check out and don't have to catch a bus/train/plane until 5pm the owner charges $5 for you to 'use to facilities' for the day. This is the only... More

We were a bit dubious about staying here as we are not "hostel people", however we were pleasantly surprised! All the staff were helpful and very friendly. One of the lads even stopped the traffic so I could reverse down the street to park. The bathroom was amazingly clean. I didnt feel the need to wear flip flops in the... More
