Plus points: Clean room with en suite shower and WC; comfortable beds and adequate hanging space. TV with remote. Computer and free wifi. It is close to the train station and centre of city. Reasonable price for its location. Minus points: No hand basin!!! Just a kitchen sink with no plug. Decor a bit dull.

For a cheap and convenient place to sleep Central Private Hotel is a winner. Yes it is very average for decor but as a place to sleep it does it's job very well. The room had a TV, computer and a shower/ toilet and mini fridge. Location was excellent just a short walk from Central Station.

Yes, this hotel is cheap, but I would strongly suggest to cough up a few extra dollars and to get a better place. In my room, the Wifi did not work. The carpets in the hallway were very dirty. The room had a weird smell and was incredibly hot (even though is was not very warm outside).

The Place itself is very lousy for the price: Cheap and Cheerful is one thing, but this is very very basic. Wifi and PC in the room is nice, but no AC and it got very hot. We didn't care too much since it was a place to sleep after a night out. The problem came when we opened the... More

Friendly staff who took suitcase up the two flights of threadbare stairs. Rooms basic but clean and beds comfortable but no room to swing a cat. Good to have a PC in the room with internet and Skype use all free. Decor in the hallway and landings was appalling, the carpets were so torn up and threadbare that you had... More

I was astounded at the prices for Sydney hotels. As I was only there for 14 hours (from flying in to flying out) I was looking for somewhere cheap but where I also had my own bathroom. Finding anything central for $100 or less was almost impossible which is why when I found this place for $99 I booked it.... More

Stayed for two one night visits to Central Private Hotel in Sydney recently. While we are not talking five star accommodation we were pleasantly surprised. The Hotel is easy walking distance from Central Railway Station even for my 85 yr old mother pulling her suitcase. There is no lift and all the rooms are upstairs. The managemnet are welcoming, friendly... More

I stayed in a single room with private shower. The room is certainly tiny but it is enough for what I needed - just a place to sleep between 2 planes, centrally located. It also has a fridge, computer and TV. Hotel looks a bit old but it is clean and quiet. You can also store your luggage during the... More
