My son, his girlfriend and i stayed at Lido Suites for 2 nights. We wanted a cheap place close to public transport so we could get around sight seeing easily. Lido Suites were just around the corner of the main street in Kings Cross,so only a minutes walk to the railway station. Shops, bars and buses were on the doorstep.... More

We stayed at Lido Suites over the Christmas -New Year period. We were very pleasantly surprised by the box of chocolates we received on Christmas Day. Being in a foreign city we found this a particularly welcoming and generous touch. The room we stayed in was a Roslyn room and very well appointed. The queen bed was comfortable. The kitchenette allowed... More

This hotel is run down. The cleaning is poor, the hot water in the bathroom didn't work on one morning at all, and the air con takes to long to cool the room. They also have broken in room amenities and a view of a the brick wall of the building next door. I would not stay there again.

The rooms were old, but the weather was 42C and the room air conditioner was broken (It blew air, but not cold air). When enquired about the situation, management brushed our concerns aside and said that the lack of cold air coming from the A/C was normal ("The aircon is old, just play around with it."). In general it seems... More

There was a serious downside that was mentioned to the management but nothing done about it. The bathroom fan was incredibly dangerous as it was fitted to the window with NO COVER and ELECTRIC WIRES just hanging free and it was part of the shower cubicle! The shower itself had been renovated and it was very modern with good hot... More

What I like about this hotel is that the room is equipped with microwave, fridge, cutlery, plates and bowls... You are able to make easy breakfasts; it's one block away from Coles and 2 min walk from Kings Cross train station; there is a laundry room in the hotel and every room has ironing facility, you can buy washing powder... Me and my friends stayed here for around 10 days. The receptionist was very kind and accomodating. We stayed at the 3rd floor and used the elevator during our stay. The elevator gets a bit jumpy but not really that bad. When we book our stay here , I was really worried that it would get really noisy to get... More

Staying in Kings Cross

Neighborhood Profile
Kings Cross
Changing liquor laws are remodeling "The Cross," Sydney's red light district. These new rules have encouraged trendy cafes and boutiques to pop-up in the area, as well as organic markets on Saturdays. The area's nightclubs are still popular with youngsters, however, who will dance to the early morning hours on weekend nights. There are plenty of artifacts from Kings Cross' shady past when gangsters and liquor houses owned the place. Today, one can still find a variety of adult entertainment venues in this evolving area.
