After booking at this location that advertises as a B&B, we were advised that there would be and additional charge for breakfast! Quite confusing. Being small business owners ourselves in the service industry, we were quite shocked at the cold response we were given each time we came and went. We imagined all sorts of things, but stayed at this... more

Was referred here by a nearby B&B (Govenors on Fitzroy) which was sold out. I was warmly greeted and allowed to wander on my own (my preference) or ask for assistance at any time. Got great directions and recommendations. Close to everything, walked everywhere. I'd love to go back. more

With frequent travel to Sydney for business and a growing dislike for the blandness of hotels, I was grateful when a friend recommended I get off the corporate hotel circuit and try something a bit different. Brickfield Hill is in a fantastic location just outside the Sydney CBD, meaning I could walk in to the city each morning in less... more

We stayed at Brickfields for New Year 2007/08, and I'm sure some of our view is tinged by the doubling of price for New Year. This B&B would be good value outside of the New Year/XMAS period, but you feel a bit stung when you are paying twice the price - but its Sydney and New Year so its par... more

We wish to thank 20 to30 for their thorough report, which is only to be expected from an auditor couple! Unfortunately, their view of Sydney is “tinged by the doubling of price for New Year”. Regrettably this is the case everywhere in Sydney at New Year, when seasoned travellers know it is almost impossible to find a room six to...

We do endorse all the nice things written by the 2 previous reviewers. The hosts of Brickfield Hill are charming and helpful, however with just a little more attention to detail Brickfield Hill could be much nicer. For example the shared bathroom would benefit from a handtowel and guest soap, and a surface for placing toiletries etc while using the... more

We thank ctrunfree for the comment that they had a nice stay, but are puzzled that their overall rating is 2, and not 3.5 as their summary suggests. We are particularly glad that they gave us high ratings for cleanliness and service as these are our priorities. Regretfully the guests made no mention of their discomfort so that we had...

Blast, our favourite place to stay in Sydney just got (a great) review in tripadvisor! oh well, in that case we might as well let you ALL into the secret.... Brickfield Hill is a magical, tiny guesthouse in a wonderful location in Sydney. We've stayed there numerous times over the last couple of years. You can walk there from Central... more

If you are looking for a small, quaint and a bit off the beaten path place to stay in Sydney....look no further. The location of this quiet B & B is about a 20 minute walk to the harbor and about a 15 minute walk to Oxford street. We love to explore a city on foot and much prefer a... more
