Our room was on the top floor and exactly as per description and photos. Nice fluffy towels, comfortable bed with clean linen. We stayed 4 nights over a weekend. It was quiet, except for a building site in the back. As we were out and about the whole day, this was not a concern. The kitchenette allowed us to make... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights. Great location and great for what you get for the price! Kitchenette, fan, shampoo/conditioner/soap & towel. TV & small table and 2 chairs. The staff were very friendly too. What's not so great is the lack of wifi & the expense of it to use even just for an hour (5... More

Dear TGD90, As you can see from previous reviews we do maintain a very very clean Lodge, so we are very sorry that you did not find us so on your particular days. We have excellent cleaners who will be even more diligent in the future. The building is an old historical one - a couple of windows do look... More

The hotel is located in a very strategical position only a few minutes from the subway and in a quiet zone full of restaurant and cafe' just minutes away from a more loud nightlife area. The structure is very clean and quiet, we had the upper floor room with a balcony and the staff was always nice and helpful. We... More

It's a simple lodge providing basic facilities. Rooms are small and the bed too was small and uncomfortable. No breakfast or free wifi. The shared bathroom that we had access to could barely fit a grown man. Lots of cafés n eateries nearby. There isn't much of a difference between this place and a backpacker hostel. So pick your choice..!

dear Ankitdalal, Thank you for taking the time to write about us - we do appreciate your comments. Yes there are many great cafes & restaurants on our doorstep, so you would never starve in this area - plus each room has it's own kitchenette so you can also buy any supplies needed at the supermarket just up the road... The lodge is primitive enough just to be place when some backpackers can spend the night. NO Wi-Fi (paid) NO lift, you need to drag your luggage all the way to your room, NO bathroom in the room! So with the towel you need to make a walk all the way to the unique bathroom per floor... the kitchenette is... More

Dear Nikolay M, We are so sorry to hear that you did not really enjoy your stay with us. But, we are a good & clean & friendly Lodge in a great area. We state on our Macleay Lodge website that we do not have a lift or ensuite bathrooms as the building cannot accommodate these. But maybe you were... More

Enjoyed the older style accommodation with great location. Staff friendly and helpful. My room was well appointed, clean and bed comfy. Little bit of an air conditioner drone outside.Ideal to use as a base. I was out every day and into the evening enjoying the sights. I would stay at Maclay Lodge again and recommend it.

Stayed here as a solo traveller for 2 nights in January and I was really pleased with my stay. Located in Potts Point which was a 10 min walk from Kings Cross Station I found it really easy to get around which was something I had been a little nervous about. There are shops, cafe's and bars everywhere which was... More

I stayed here for two nights while stopping over in Sydney on my way to New Zealand. I wanted somewhere that was cheap, close to the main attractions and easy to get to from the airport. I couldn’t' have asked for a better place! I landed at Sydney airport quite early in the morning, and got a taxi to the... More

Small place in the middle of a busy street with many shops and restaurants scattered around. Place has no lift, but staff helped with carrying luggage up flight of steps. Room itself was very small, with bed, tv and small kitchette; bathroom down the hall, which I have to say not used to that at all. The last time I... More

Would stay here again, good location walkable to the opera house and bondi beach (if you like walking). Lots of hostels based in this area so plenty of... More
