I have stayed at Tokyo Village twice. During x-mas and last week in January. For me Tokyo Village is the best hostel. I like to party but not in my hostel. The hostel is just a view minutes from central station and the night life. If u want to chill out ore have a beer, there is a garden (my... More

I've stayed in a few hostels and this must be the worst. I can definitely vouch for all the other comments about the owner being terrible - when I arrived he made me wait for an hour for his wife to arrive and check me in, because he was 'too busy' doing some handyman work. This was despite telling me... More

i met quite nice people there, but the german owner.. oh my god. he was such a nightmare. when i extended my staying, he charged me higher rate. if he doesnt like some guests, he throw their food away from fridge. (i really saw that!) he introduces some jobs to backpackers under the table, we supposed to get $15 a... More

We stayed for 11 nights. We booked the room within short notice so our choice of somewhere to stay was limited. We settled for Tokyo Village as we had little other option for our budget range. We had been told that all of the hostels in Sydney were a bit of a dive unless you are going to fork out... More

Excellent! Friendliness, organization and assistance. An excellent example of efficiency and organization. Excellent kitchen equipment and landry. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Excellent location just 5 minutes walk from Central Station. Garden welcoming.

I found several unique things about this hostel while my stay. As I've stayed in several other hostels before I found that sleeping in this hostel is very relaxing because there is no parties during the week and the hostel staff keep everything nicely under control when it comes to night time. Second thing that charmed me was the open... More

Stayed here for one week in mid March. On arrival I was asked to pay a surcharge fee on my credit card as it was a non Australian card. This was not mentioned on the website and Tokyo village is the only hostel where I have ever had to do this. The whole place is in dire need of decorating... More

The rates are fairly reasonable but the place definitely needs a bit of modernising and a lick of paint. The wardrobes and beds need replacing and so do a couple of the staff, especially the grumpy german brunette who worked on reception as she was less than friendly. The long term residents and their insistent in singing along to Blink... More

The writer(s) was asked to leave this property for the reason that he( they) would not consider others , playing loud music ,not washing or cleaning their dishes and being abusive to staff when asked to be quiet. A North Korean refugee family with nowhere to go on a very busy weekend in Sydney was given shelter in the TV... More
