I stayed in the small room which was fine for me because I only wanted the room to sleep and shower. Neat and clean. Nicely refurbished. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Situated in a good location walking distance from the hustle and bustle but not right in it which made for a pleasant and quiet stay.

Stayed in this hotel for three nights. Nice and clean room, central location. Very friendly and helpful reception. A bit of noise coming from a busy street although double glazed window. I would choose this hotel again when visiting Sydney next time.

Stayed in this hotel during a hot spell in January. It is about 750m from Central Station - an easy walk with a suitcase. Hotel is comfortable with excellent air conditioning. Double glazing makes the room quiet. Room was small but good bed and bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to make room access... More

The receptionist had impeccable customer service with a lovely French accent, was happy to answer any questions and had interest in my story. Breakfast was great !! I found my room very pleasant with everything I needed and I thought the prices are very reasonable being only a short walk from the city will defiantly stay again and tell my... More

We stayed here on our first nights in Australia and then after a trip through Australia and New Zealand stayed there again on our way home. Lovely boutique style hotel centrally located to many areas. The street is busy but the rooms are surprisingly quiet. Great service, and lovely little breakfast restaurant attached to the hotel where the staff were... More

Booked two rooms for three nights over Christmas 2015. Booked special rate through wotif. Rang hotel directly to change one room and was advised cost of new room would be extra $10 per night. On check in we were asked for extra $30 per night. After some discussion reception person agreed to charge only $10 extra per night (as booked).... More

On a recent overnight visit to Sydney, we stayed at The Vulcan, a boutique hotel, in Ultimo. We hadn’t stayed here for a while but The Hughenden, our usual choice, required a minimum of three nights during the New Year’s period due to the Boxing Day cricket test at the nearby Sydney Cricket Ground. The Vulcan, near the University of... More

We stayed over the new years eve period and found the staff very friendly, good location but the room had no natural light and felt dark and depressing at $320 a night this is one hotel that i would not recommend. We also waited 50mins for breakfast which was pancakes and toast not worth the wait. A/C very noisy and... More
