We stayed here for 3 nights after having an awful experience with a hostel in the centre of Sydney. It was exactly what we were after. We had a twin room on the ground floor. It was really quiet and staff friendly. The decor was a bit tired but all was clean. The beds were really comfortable. The rooftop terrace... More

Could not have been more pleased with the location of this hostel as Glebe was a charming neighborhood full of historical houses and fantastic restaurants. I stayed in a private single room and the room was very clean and quiet with a sink and a small closet. The room also had a window, which helped it stay cool on the... More

4 bed room, clean, nice kitchen, really nice and helpful staff, met lots of cool people there, close to glebe markets, just a cute place to chill out (not too much for party) and see a different side of beautiful sydney!

I have stayed in both the double private room and the 4 share room many, many times. The location is absolutely awesome, and I have great sleep every time I stay. The place remains consistently clean and friendly, but sometimes the reception is a bit luke warm. It has a high turn over of tourist in the bust season, and... More

We stayed here for 1 month earlier in the year and are just leaving after a second month. We absolutely love this hostel. The staff are lovely, especially Eddie and Martha, and on the weekly rate you really get your money's worth. Free BBQ (with beer) on a Friday and free pizza on a Tuesday is great as well as... More

I don't usually stay in backpackers but a quick , on the cheap, trip to Sydney meant I decided to stay here. Was I surprised? Yes! This place is friendly and a home for many people of different ages. Most are on working holidays but also travelers like me. The staff are friendly and helpful and that's a plus for... More

$80 a night, double room. Fan. Shared bathroom. It's a really unspectacular room, but it is clean, quiet and spacious. If you want a cheap room with a double bed in a great part of Sydney, go here. Very friendly helpful staff.

I love this hostel. Great staff, great area and you still get a decent night sleep unlike other places in the city. The park at the end of the road is my favourite place to sit, relax and let the world pass me by.

We booked this place based on its advertisement of free parking. However, upon arrival it turned out the parking was only on the street and parking restrictions had recently changed: everything was two hours except one side of nearby laneway. Everything else was as stated, however could have done with updating. Very noisy at night, so we could hear people... More

Hi Rheanna Thanks for your review and we have good news. For years, there has been free parking next to our hostel, then unfortunately the local council came and changed this. We have appealed and been successful - the free parking slots are back. We are really sorry you were inconvenienced during this time but unfortunately it was out of... More

Glebe Point YHA is my favourite of all the hostels I've stayed in. I have now stayed here three times in total at their excellent weekly rate which includes premium WiFi. The hostel is clean, the beds are comfortable, each individual bed has its own plug and light and the kitchen is of reasonable size. The hostel is clean and... More

Staying in Glebe

Neighborhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
