Stumbled upon a gem. The hostel itself is a bit run down but the people are amazing. I loved it so much I stayed here for 3 months. This hostel was great because it was more of a working hostel. This is not a party hostel. There was a Friday night barbeque which is a great way to meet the... More

This is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly. It's a 20 minute bus ride to the city, and it's in a quiet neighbourhood which means there isn't much traffic noise. This YHA is cheaper than staying at the ones in the city.

Reasonably priced. Good location- 10 minute bus ride from city, bus stop directly outside. Kitchen wasn't that clean and lounge area stunj! Downstairs needs a good clean and update! Room very basic- even private double you had to make your own bed!!

Everyone had told me glebe was to far out from the CBD to enjoy it's sights but I found this not to be true! A bus pass to get into the city costs less than $3 one way but purchasing a ten pass for $18.40 works out cheaper if your travelling a that often and the bus stops just outside... More

I live in Tasmania and had a 60th Birthday to attend in Sydney and made a weekend of it. Traveling alone and all I needed was a "bed for the night" somewhere comfortable, safe and secure. The Y in Glebe was so much more than this! Easily located from Central station by bus which stops right outside, efficient and welcoming checkin... More

So this is my view of this hostel, haven stayed there a week : Positive points : The hostel is in the leafy surburb of Glebe, which is soooo close to the city. If you catch the bus just infront of the hostel, you will arrive in the city in less than 15 minutes ! I prefer to walk so... More

Great friendly staff, clean and comfortable! Glebe YHA was home for a month and I loved it! Perfect location, just a short distance (15 mins bus/tram ride) away from the centre of Sydney! And Glebe itself is a wonderful area, packed full of top cafes and restaurants, plus the Saturday market is a must! Generally quiet, 2 or 3 parties... More

I stayed here because I liked it when I was last in Sydney 6 years ago. However, it's safe to say I won't be staying here again. The decor needs a serious update. A lick of paint wouldn't hurt. The shower gel racks in the showers could do with replacing so they don't look so old and rusty. The room... More

Enjoyed the location at Glebe - gives you a youngish and hip feel, not to mention the lovely bay just one minute away. If you want quiet and away from the city, but not too far off, this is a great place to enjoy! Stayed in a private room (no ensuite) and decent enough, with clean sheets. We were located... More
