Location is good and staff are friendly. Rooftop of hostel was a the best highlight. BUT the hygiene of the hostel was horrific. Toilets and showers were not clean. Corridors were slippery. No wet floor sign. Bed bugs were found on the bottom bunk below me in a 12 man dorm. The girl below me had so many bites. Their... More

my room #11 headed to williams street, it was very noisy - the old windows do not block any noise. stressful. tiny room, smelled heavily and more way more than usual like people, although i was alone in there one day, though open windows and working fan. with only little effort this hostel could show a little love to the... We stayed here for 4 nights because the price was attractive at $18 per night for an 8 bed dorm. The problem with this hostel was that our room was full of long term residents and they made us feel uncomfortable staying there, security wasn't great as our room door didn't close so it couldn't be locked so we always... I would not recommend this place to anyone, we stayed in the double room near the toilets, convenient to be sleeping there I thought at first, until the first night... Both the male and female doors SLAM shut every time they are opened, keeping you up all night! This needs to be fixed but judging on the other reviews it... More

I stayed at this hostel in total for 3 months for work purposes. The hostel was picked by STA Travel for a Work, Stay and Play package. The hostel offers free breakfast every morning and free BBQ and goon on a Monday evening. The staff are mostly friendly when they're not drinking or getting high, but overall what you would... More

I enjoyed staying at this hostel, the lodging was cheap and I got what I expected to for the price. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was easy to meet people in the community lounge area and on the rooftop in the evening. If you are a low maintenance traveller looking for lodging in a cool location this... More

There seems to be a reoccurring issue with the Wooduck hostels. They always seem to be ran by travellers who really do not know anything about customer service, or just basic manners. We were greeted by a miserable man who clearly did not want to be there. Our room was TINY. It was right next to the bathrooms with doors... More

Myself and my girlfriend booked ourselves into this hostel due to it being so cheap, finding it however was a bit of a task as it was hard to spot and the taxi driver had no clue where it was! Eventually when found we checked in to find we had a free upgrade from a 12 bed dorm to a... More

Stayed here for a week given that yes it is the cheapest in Sydney. But after travelling around South East Asia paying £3 for a room that was immaculate, then comin to Sydney paying £12 a night and the whole hostel too be a mess. The kitchen is disgusting, there are never enough utensils to cook anything. People leave the... More

Booked this hostel through STA travel and this was the first hostel me and my boyfriend stayed at when we arrived in Sydney/Australia! It was awful! For the first night we booked a double room as we thought we would need rest after the 23 hour flight.. That was ok I suppose.. The TV didn't work and the room wasn't... More
