The only reason we stayed was because it said 5 star and it had a super low price so just had to check it out. I wasn't very impressed, none of the concierge greeted us to ask if we needed help with our bags. The room was very average and had the strangest tv spot. It is in a unit...

Like many previous reviewers, we stayed at this hotel through a 'last minute' booking firm, being told it would be a 5 star hotel in the heart of the CBD. Doing a quick trip to Sydney, it seemed like a good option. The entrance, lobby and reception areas are certainly very nice, but the room we had was lucky to...

beautiful room, great spacious bathroom
great breakfast, friendly staff
a good home from home atmosphere
(one thing an experienced waiter should not berate a new member of staff in front of customers, if at all, for not knowing what an affogato was he should teach her what it is and how to make one.)

We booked this through a 5 Star Mystery Deal, and the location was perfect for us as we had dinner reservations at The Rocks, so we were within a 10 minute walk.
The service on arrival was wonderful and fast. Our room was nice, on Level 5, carpet was a bit worn and stained, and the shower could do with...

I have stayed at the Amora a number of times over the past few years. The hotel is very elegant and it is nice to have the door opened for you at the end of the day by a friendly porter. The concierge/porter staff are fantastic, but they could teach the receptionists a few lessons in small talk and how...

Pros: good location close to the rocks and syd harbour, clean, reasonable price deals.
Cons: rooms are a bit dated, not a polished 5 star more a 4 star feel, on a bit of a hill, we were on 15th floor average view, no egg chef on the weekend! The chef in the kitchen would not cook an omelette on a...

Stayed here mid January after booking through a web offer citing 5 star hotel. This rating is based on the type of amenities, not the quality of them in this case. Pros: Personnel were extremely nice and accommodating. Twin room on the 23rd floor was large enough and overlooked a park .....so pleasant view. Bathroom was huge and well appointed....

Booked as a "mystery hotel", we were pleased to have the Amora Jamison chosen for our stay. As we were there on Australia Day, it was a fabulous location to enjoy the festivities at Circular Quay, the Rocks and Darling Harbour. Central to all these. We requested a high floor and were pleased to be allocated the 29th floor. Lovely...

Got this hotel last week on a 5 star "mystery deal", which seems to be the trap most people have fallen into. Very disappointing as I now know to go for a 4 star mystery deal should I ever book that way again as Amora Jamison is certainly not 5 star. I booked it on a whim for myself and...
