My wife and just checked out after a 3-night stay, and we were quite pleased. The Rozelle room was very nice, roomy, nice terrace with colorful birds to listen to in the mornings. Breakfast was great. The first morning I ordered bacon and eggs, not knowing how much other food he was preparing--about 8 kinds of fruit, plus bread, banana/fruit... More

Gary and Julie were wonderful hosts. It started with Gary picking us up at the Cruise ship. When new to a city, it is nice not to have to try to find your way around. Gary insisted that he carry our luggage up to our room on the second floor. The Rozelle Room was beautiful with a wonderful porch with... More

From the moment we were met at the airport to final drop off our three nights were a delight. Gary and Julie provided a relaxed and bespoke high quality home from home. One moment he is a top class concierge providing well thought out guidance, recommendations and phone bookings for us, and to top it off he provides special breakfasts.... More

We booked the B&B as a result of the reviews on Trip Advisor and we reserved the accommodation a full year ahead because it was peak season. The tariff rates are double over New Year but this is common in Sydney. A plus for us was being collected at the airport by the owner Gary, which we were grateful for.... More

After unsuccessful attempts to reserve lodging in downtown Sydney, I booked early October at Forsyth B&B for nine nights during the New Years holiday, receiving a discounted rate based on our lengthy stay. Gary picked us up for $40AUD and, at the end of our stay, dropped us off at the airport at no charge. The B&B was impeccable in... More

Excellent location in Glebe: all sorts of restaurants within walking distance (ask Gary to book you in...), only 20mn from the Central Station (by bus), 15mn from the Fishmarket, etc. A very pleasant and extremely refined home, totally unlike your average bed and breakfast. Breakfast is superb, one of us is a coeliac, and we've never had such tasty gluten-free... More

If Gary and Julie have a spot open when you're visiting Sydney, grab it! We spent a total of eight nights (first four nights after arrival in Australia and again later in the trip) at Forsyth B&B and quickly decided that we couldn't have made a better choice. The location is perfect: you can walk into the city but also... More

I needed a B&B in Glebe near to my daughter. This fabulous B&B more than fitted the bill. The whole place is scrupulously clean and the decor is amazing. Wonderful art works fill the walls and check out the sculpture in the Japanese inspired garden. There are 2 rooms equally stunning. A mouthwatering breakfast is served on the patio and... More

My wife and I stayed at the Forsyth B&B for nearly a week. For the first three days and nights, we were in the Blackwattle room, which is well appointed, although a bit cramped. The final three days and nights, we were able to stay in the Rozelle room, which is the larger of the two and well worth securing... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and were able to eat locally and walk into central Sydney from here. It's in a quiet residential street in The Glebe, where we could leave our hire car parked with a permit from Gary, the owner. He was very helpful in making itinerary and restaurant suggestions, even taking my husband to the nearest... More

Staying in Glebe

Neighborhood Profile
Glebe
An inner city suburb along the water, Glebe has a deep-rooted sense of cultural history and heritage. It originated as a semi-rural resort for the well-to-do, but has transformed into a student-centric melting pot. Visit Glebe Point Road for ethnic cuisine as standard as Mexican, Indian, Italian and Chinese, or as diverse as Spanish, Bavarian, Polish, Czech and Lebanese. You will find that Glebe is accepting of the eccentrics and aboriginals that roam the streets, integrating students and people of all economic statuses into the multi-cultural fabric that distinguishes this suburb. Glebe Foreshore is a great destination for a leisurely walk along the Bay, and the Saturday market is a great scene for bargain hunters.
