Unfriendly, lots of stairs, small room, sharing bathrooms, dirty, have seen better one star backpackers than this place. Only half decent thing wass the breakfast. in a great city like Sydney I would expect at least somewhat better. More

Good value, right near Kirribilli house, which was cool. Pretty close to the bridge so you can walk into the city if you're not in a rush to get anywhere. Enjoyed the free breakfast, which is basic, but its all you really need! I stayed here with a family member and our room was SOOOO hot! No aircon or anything,... More

Staff were almost non existent and had to wait ages to get served...Then the guy went away with my passport for what seemed forever...then I was shown to an extremely damp and poorly ventilated single room, with many holes in the skirting board, which welcomed several big and not so big spiders - had to cover them up. Whatever you... More

I stayed here for one night (with a group of 3 total), and booked online. The room we were allocated was comfortable enough, with tea and coffee making facilities, TV, a double bed and a bunk. Small high window meant there was no view, with other guests occasionally using the balcony directly outside the window for smoking. The TV reception... More

First up this place is not 3*. This has to be the worst accommodation i've ever stayed in and i've traveled most of Asia! I stayed in a single room and the carpet was moldy and damp with black mold all up the walls. The shared bathroom had cockroaches all over the place and i've been in bigger airplane toilets!... More

I may have myself to blame. I am on an extended trip and booked a number of accomodations well in advance. I didn't check my credit card charge on line until after I had vacated, but I wound up paying $150 per night for a cramped single room with a toilet & bath shared with several other rooms. Make sure... More

I have stayed here twice. I would recommend you telephone ahead to confirm booking as both times i stayed there were problems. The first time, I was in a group of four and when we arrived I heard the receptionist tell the lady checking in ahead of us that they had double booked her room but were happy to upgrade... More

Absolutely value for money, if you do not mind public bathrooms, excellent location, and friendly staff, excellent buffet breakfast, wonderful !!! Suitable for holidays while you spend most day time out about and merely need a comfortable place to sleep and you do not want to spend a huge budget, this is a budget motel, but the breakfast is most... boy oh boy lesson learned from this trip to read reviews before booking hotel in future every time !! Arrived by ferry with suit cases, two lots or steps before getting on to road with further hill climb to get to hotel only to be met by two flights of steps to get to reception, member of staff passed us... Glenferrie Lodge--which is really more like a backpacker hostel than a hotel--lacked basic things taken for granted everywhere else, most notably bathrooms. The guest rooms don't have bathrooms of their own, so guests are expected to share communal bathrooms down the hall; and with just three showers, expect to wait in line in the mornings, to say nothing of the...
