As far as the rooms and staff go, I found them great, also the location is good... Close to the Central Railway station and 30 minute walk to the Opera House. As it was work related we dined in 3 nights, 2 of those at the bar next door. Night 1: had the spring pea risotto, this was pretty bland... More

We were in the main bar area with approx 100 peoples. Room was set up in 3 large tables, great for mingling. The food was great with antipasto plates and then Plenty of great pizza. As fully stocked bar of beer, wine and softies. Located in a great location right next to central and close to everything. Definately recommend this... More

good value hotel , across road to central station and thats where Central ends as the area is Surrey hills which has a mixture of residential, commercial and light industrial areas not attractive for tourists to wander. A walk into the city centre took 30 mins approx.

This hotel has only fairly recently changed from I think Sebel to Rydges and there are still a few of the old Sebel hangovers left which I hope they stamp out soon. The breakfast is fine but not up to Rydges standard. The cafe/restaurant/bar is just not good enough. The food is very good but the service, staff knowledge and... More

Arrived hot and tired - check in was easy as! Minor issues were dealt with promptly and cheerfully, helpful suggestions for places to eat and transport. Checking out was effortless, bags stored until time for travel. Engaging and well presented staff enhanced our initial good impression

Staying in Surry Hills

Neighborhood Profile
Surry Hills
Once regarded as the traditional fashion area, Surry Hills has broadened its appeal. This neighborhood continues to distinguish itself as a shopping destination, offering the best collection of one-of-a-kind boutiques, designer brands and flagship stores in the city. Today, this area has evolved into a hub of media, design and professional services - a colorful and diverse place equally known for its antique dealers, art galleries, cafes and pubs. Strolling down the street on a Saturday morning, you’ll see a mix of students, artists, hipsters and a few all-nighters from Oxford Street, the “Gay Capital of Sydney”. In this vibrant neighborhood you will find bohemian chic and modern style co-existing side by side.
