Relatively clean rooms and toilets. Good central location. Minor issue in the fact the random in my 8 person dude was finger banging a girl all night on the top bunk. It felt like a helicopter was trying to take off with all the rocking. I wouldn't pass a blue light over the sheets. I did find that the open... More

I consider this is the cheapest backpacker in the Sydney CBD. However the location is far from the train station, it maybe suitable for whom can have a good walking shoes :) I stayed 2 night last year, first night was terrible because someone got a party inside. In addition, one couple made love under my bed, I can not... More

Accommodation in Sydney is generally extremely expensive and not great value for money. Out of all the places we stayed at and viewed online this had to be the best one for value for money. We had a private room but with shared facilities. The room was basic and had an electric heater - this is rare but very much... More

I stayed here for 4 nights in September and was actually pleasantly surprised with the hostel with respect to the reviews on here. The rooms were pretty clean with very clean bedding given to you upon arrival. The bar is pretty small so the noise levels don't actually get that bad at night (I have been travelling for 2 1/2... I stayed here with my boyfriend and we loved it. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms & showers were great. Plenty of hot water which I needed as Sydney was surprisingly cold! The staff were so nice and helpful and the café offered cheap food deals. The hostel has a large dining & kitchen area if you want to... More

It could be cheap, but it so dirty, that will ruin your stay in Sydney. We were in a double room and I don't want to imagine how are the dormitory there. The was blood all around walls from mosquitoes and on the sheets too. The carpet was full of hair. It is so crowded of 18 years old in... More

Not just a good hostel but also a nice place to visit. The hostel is clean and comfortable. The staff consists of young, cheerful people and they are all pretty laid back. We arrived much earlier than we were supposed to but they were understanding and even had housekeeping do our room first so we could get in early. Located... More

We booked Elephant as it was one of the cheapest we could find near the city and had reasonable reviews. We'd had a couple of bad experiences with other backpackers leading up to this one so weren't really expecting much! But on arrival, we were pleasantly surprised. It's an old building so can appear tired and a bit grubby, but... More
