We came to this beautiful old mansion to escape the noise of the CBD. How disappointed we were. We loved Glebe, but did not look forward to returning to this B & B each evening. For the price we had expected at least somewhere clean and comfortable. We also expected our host to react to our concerns about cockroaches in... More

We' had stayed at Tricketts twice before, in 2008 and 2009. We liked the grand-but-comfortable historic home, the large guest rooms, the generous & delicious breakfasts and the great location in Glebe. On arrival this time, we were surprised to hear that there were now only two guest rooms, both on the ground floor. The owner told us she now... More

We loved Sydney and really enjoyed staying out of sydney itself. We were in a lovely area, close to good pubs and cafes. Enjoyed the area. The host Liz was lovely and went out of her way to help with advice of places to visit. Breakfasts were good too and we looked forward to these. The house is lovely and... More

We chose to stay at Tricketts because we're they type of people who prefer to stay in Soho in rather than Times Square when in New York. Tricketts was like staying at a friends house rather than a snooty hotel. The building is an amazing Victorian mansion building with a wonderfully eclectic interior and huge living room to escape the... More

Went over New Year with 12 friends.Far,far better than a hotel. The ballroom is just like a club, deep leather chairs.Location is perfect. In a very quiet area of Sydney but ideal for the tram (10 min),bus (20min) or even walk (40 min)And there are plenty of cheap restaurants close by including the Toxteth pub More

I'm not sure where the other positive reviewers for this B&B stayed, but Tricketts really was poor - it shouldn't be allowed to be called "luxury" and have 4.5 stars!!! The location was about 25 mins on the bus into Sydney city centre. We had the smallest and allegedly quietest room at the back of the house. It was thick... More

March 2007 - The property was lovely but needed a good cleaning. Sidney was extremely hot and humid, but the air conditioning was not turned on during the night. Because of the heat and humidity and the noise from the street because the windows were open, we could not sleep. Even though Liz Tricketts was aware of the problem, she... More

If you are looking for a lovely restored Victorian house in a funky neighborhood about 15-20 minutes from the heart of Sydney by bus, Trickett's is a great choice. The house has been lovingly restored by Liz Trickett and her son Bruce and then filled with antiques and original art. One reviewer complained that it wasn't the Sheraton. Absolutely true.... More

We had never expected that finding accommodation for four adults in Sydney for New Year 2006 (coinciding with the final Ashes test!) would be easy. We were disappointed though at the number of hotels shamelessly cashing in on this by demanding minimum stays of 1 week or tripling their rates. We were therefore delighted to finally secure rooms at Tricketts,... More

We stayed for a total of six nights at this venerable location. The property is a thoughtfully restored Victorian mansion in the heart of the eclectic area of Glebe. The owner, Liz and her son Bruce provided a warm welcome and were always on hand to provide advice and information whilst overseeing delicious breakfasts. The Glebe area provides an excellent...
