Reported to be the oldest pub in Sydney. Good variety of ales and food looked good. Very popular and maybe hard to get a seat but was certainly buzzing when we were there. Very good atmosphere to while away a couple of hours.

Our second visit to this iconic pub on the Rocks . We had a five nighr stay including Australia day so we were in pole position for a good time . The hotel is a bit lacking in certain areas like no Do not disturb signs , no hair dryer in the room, a breakfast that uses the cheapest bread... More

On the recommendation of friends we dropped in early on a Monday evening and lucked into pie night. OMG. Made on the premises it came on a cloud of mashed potatoes in a sea of delicious gravy with a mushy pea topping. We could have eaten 5 of them they were so delicious! The atmosphere is very old worlde pub,... More

A variety of their own brewed beers is available but they're not cheap. If you're hungry, don't get the pie and peas.Staff pleasant and service is quick. One of the iconic pubs of Sydney,I suppose you have to go once but there are better places to have a meal.

The Lord Nelson brews it's own beers, which it also sells around Australia, and they are all fantastic. The food is also really good. I recommend the ploughmans platter to accompany your beer, and ask for the home made English mustard. It's really good and really hot! Upstairs has a lovely restaurant serving more fantastic food, and would be great... More

This wonderful old 1836 sandstone hotel is situated in the historic Rocks area of Sydney. The beer menu is superb as it is an actual working brewery. The food menu is varied & modern, with some Aussie pies & mushy peas. We were a group of 12 on a Sunday for lunch to celebrate a 21st. The pub was very... More

We would always make this our 1st stop. Great atmosphere more suited to the more mature couple than the under 25s. You can also eat here and stay. A definite must do along with the other pubs in walking distance. Loved it.

The only lost point was with the booking system; found it unusual to not get a confirmation email or email detailing check-in/out times + Terms & Conditions, also faxed my CC number in as requested, however when I called to check I found out they had not yet received it, had to provide over the phone. No on-line booking system,... More

My husband and I stopped in on our recent trip for a beer. We found the atmosphere lively and fun and the beer cold and just what we wanted !!! I personally recommend the 3 Sheets Pal Ale !! My husband really enjoyed his dark beer as well.

We originally went for a drink as it has a great reputation for its home brews. It has a very old fashioned style pub atmosphere and I tried a couple of their brews which were very good. We ended up eating here as well. The restaurant was upstairs and we were shown straight to a table. It was also a... More
