Stayed here for 3 nights in January 2014. Located at the quieter end of the Rocks, with great views of the bridge and harbour from the nearby observatory, this is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Sydney. Nothing nicer than a glass of 'three sheets' after a day of wandering around the city. Would heartily recommend this hotel :)

What an experience to eat and drink at Australia’s oldest brewery! The food was very tasty and the beer was nice. Nothing too special but nothing to fault either. We tried the range and happily enjoyed everything we had. The staff were excellent and knew a lot about beer. I would highly recommend staying at the hotel because you are... More

This historic hotel is the oldest pub & brewery in Sydney and has the feel of an olde English pub. The bar serves its own beer and the meals are lovely. We were with a small family group so we had to use the dining room as outside tables were for couples only. It is located in Sydney " The... More

We were recommended to stay at The Lord Nelson by friends and were delighted by their recommendation. It is in an ideal position on The Rocks with Sydney harbour a very short walk away along with most of the major attractions. The pub on the ground floor was very busy but surprisingly the hotel rooms above were quiet. Our room... More

My wife and I spent three nights in Room 302 during our recent visit to Sydney. If you're looking for luxury accommodations with endless amenities, this isn't your place. If you're looking for a comfortable place to sleep that is convenient to the major tourist areas of Sydney and want to save some money for meals and activities, the Lord... More

Oldest hotel in Sydney with a bar and brewery on the ground floor...restaurant on the 1st floor and office and rooms on the second floor and finally rooms on the third floor. Our room was on the third floor which means lots of steps but was well worth it even with our four suit cases! The bar was like an... More

What a fabulous place! Spent 2 great nights here - please ask for room 302 beautiful views. The beer was outstanding - brewed on the premises by Andy. Enjoyed the Head Brewers Dinner last night - 5 courses which was accompanied by a different ale for each course, the food was exceptional! Blair Hayden (MD) was larger than life character... More

I love old pubs and try to find one in every city. Lord Nelson's brews it's on beer (several) and I tasted a few. All very good. The bartender was just about what you'd expect for a tavern like this. Fun loving, Leaned more toward ready for retirement than the young crowd that was in the place. Never having been... More

Yes the beer is good. Brewed on premise. The 3 sheets was my favorite but the Victory Bitter was a close second. We ate here twice during our time in Sydney and the food was excellent. The last meal consisted of a lamb shank pie. A whole lamb shank with veggies and mashed potatoes. It was $20AU and included a... More
