We stayed 5 nights at the Lord Nelson and loved it! The room was great, it came with breakfast and was in such a fantastic location in the Rocks...Had a few great meals and beer and wine in the pub (which was always busy)...The staff was very nice...Would definitely stay again and recommend to everyone

What a great pub. Had just walked around the rocks and was heading for the observatory when we passed The Lord Nelson. A great old pub, real fire and beer served in pints. We tried Quayle Ale and Victory Bitter very much which washed down steak pie, mash and musth peas.

We stayed for three nights at the Lord Nelson - This is how we saw it: THE GOOD ***** Location, location, location in the Rocks Historic Pub, beautifully up-kept Room 201, large, bright, windows onto the street, comfortable bed, ensuite No noise in bedroom from downstairs bar - even on State of Origin night! Friendly, courteous reception and bar staff... More

This is one of the oldest pubs in Sydney just a short walk up from the Rocks. With its own brewery onsite, it provides a wide range of beers and refreshments. We were there for drinks only and had the Trafalgar Pale Ale which was an excellent drop indeed. It is full of character and is quite rustic in its... More

So I really wanted to stay here when we went to Sydney a few years ago but they were already booked so this time around, I booked as soon as I knew when we would be in Sydney. And I think it was a great idea as it's very central to all (you can walk to most places), the rooms... More

Spent a few nights here, ate the food, drank the brew. Room: I got the cheapest room and it was small, big enough for the bed and not much else, but that was fine, because I wasn't spending much time in my room. It sort of felt like visiting your grandma's house. Still, it was clean and the bed was... More

We stayed recently overnight in their refurbished rooms above the hotel. What a great place to discover. We had been to the hotel on many occasions for a drink and food but we only discovered a short time ago that the hotel offered accommodation. On first look, given the age of the building we didnt expect much but the website... More

When we visited Sydney 2 years ago we ate here several times and the food and beer were great. On our return to Sydney we went back for "pie" night. What can I say. The pie looked like it had been bought from the "pie man store", the German type beer was so sweet it was undrinkable. Wish we never... More

The last time I was in the Lord Nelson was in 1982 along with a lot of other lads "down from the bush" in the Hunter Valley construction projects. Lets just say that back then it wasn't the family friendly venue it is today, but all I could see a couple of Sundays ago was a place I am sorry... More
