I cleaned the kitchen twice daily for free accommodation at Jolly Swagman's for about three weeks this May. Though I had a pretty sweet deal, two hours work for a free night's stay, I felt a bit out of place here. I was there looking for work when I wasn't cleaning. As a result, my partying roommates were a bit... More

Stayed here after going clubbing with mates. Wasnt too happy climbing up a few flight of stairs after going clubbing at the cross. The bathrooms were ok. The room we booked though there wasnt extra security lock on it, the room had a must smell and the tv was tiny. The floor was really dirty and the noise outside didnt... More

We stayed for two nights. The room was stinky, bathroom a mess but worst of all: Even though it is advertized to have free wifi (it is actually written in big letter on the building), the wifi is only free for an hour. This is not acceptable because the prize for the additional wifi is a rip off and wifi... More

A friendly clean place though a little rickety. Dormitories with clean shared bathrooms, strong bunker beds & fridge though no room heater. Common area with complete kitchen & limited (cereal, mil, bread) choice unlimited quantity breakfast. Value for budget money when the priority is a good night's sleep.

We stayed there 3 nights. The room was ok but smelling and with dirty carpet on the floor. Bathrooms were always dirty and the most anoying thing was the kitchen opening time. It was almost always closed. When you want to wash your dishes to let it clean for future cooks, the staff is very rude and pushes you out.... More

We spent at this hostel for 2 nights. Before choosing it we read some reviews and made some comparison between hostels in Kings Cross and Sydney CBD. Location of the hostel is good and close by train station. However there is also plenty of hostels nearby. We booked a private room. It has double bed, fridge, TV and a basin.... More

This place is great, the room is a good size, nice comfy bed, small but very good digital tv, decent size in room fridge, sink and mirror. The kitchen here is great, always clean and tidy, exchange key for pots and pans, and good equipment. Oven, gas and electric hobs. Always something on, massive tv and bean bags in TV... More

Myself and my friend visited this hostel for 4 nights over a weekend in April. We booked this as it was a hostel our cousin had stayed in. We were not disappointed. Everyone warned us about the Kings Cross area where the hostel is located as it was known to be a bit dangerous and not very safe. We did... More

Spent a week here at the end of March after coming from a horrible hostel in Bondi which has a rooftop. The Belfast born receptionist was very friendly to us upon arrival and anybody else we dealt with were also helpful and friendly. One slight problem we had was that there was a smell of damp in our room -... More

Rooms were ok but can get crowded and hot when full. Location is right in heart of kings cross which has a few interesting characters that may walk past screaming random stuff at times.Easy walk from a night out.half an hour from cbd. Main guy was friendly and helpful but a couple of the staff leave a lot to be... More
