My husband and I spent six nights here and had a wonderful experience. The location can't be beat with a 5 minute walk to the water and another 10 around to the Opera House. It is easy to get up to the bridge and many restaurants and shops are right outside your door. The staff was very friendly and helpful.... More

Booked a room at short notice. Found it with little difficulty, excellent location near the Rocks and Circular Quay. Receptionist was wonderful and carried our bag to our front door. Room was a little smaller than expected and our feet dangled over the edge of the bed, but that wasn't a huge problem. Toilet and shower facilities for our room... More

We stayed at the Russell last year, and recommended it to friends who stayed in May this year. Both visits a success, and we are all in love with the Russell. Wonderful location in the Rocks, steps away from Circular Quay. A taste of history too with its historical past. The old wooden floorboards creak - it's a wonderful sound... More

The hotel is ideally for budget saving. Although, music from the pub was noisy but It was fine with young people like me. Perfect location, good service and nice staff. Besides, breakfast included is a highlight. I think I will stay here again.

Beautiful heritage building in the heart of Sydney's Rocks district, perfect place to stay prior to a cruise leaving from the Overseas Passenger Terminal across the road. Buffet Continental breakfast is beautiful and the service provided at check-in and on leaving a sheer delight.

Ideally situated in The Rocks, spacious and clean rooms and bathrooms and friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed The Push downstairs - food great and a piano player which we sang along to very badly. The only improvement which could be made is on the included continental breakfast which was a bit uninspiring.

We stayed 3 nights at the Russell Hotel based on it's location. It turned out to be a perfect choice. It is not the "fanciest" hotel I've visited, but it has tons of character. Our room was decent sized and very comfortable. I was concerned about the hotel being located above a pub, but we were never bothered by any... More

We stayed 4 nights at the Russell Hotel. The rooms were compact and period - appropriate for The Rocks. Breakfast was adequate, nothing brilliant, but equally, nothing to complain about. The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is a stones throw from circular quay, harbour bridge, opera house and right in the middle of the rocks. We'll... More

We recently stayed at the Russell hotel in Sydney because of its location and comments on TripAdvisor. Our room was small,,clean and furnished in very dated furniture. On the other hand the ensuite was huge but the shower didn't,t have any enclosure and the room was flooded when showering. The continental breakfast was good with a lovely area to eat... More

We spent 2 nights at the Russell before boarding a cruise ship from Circular Quay. The location was perfect for us - easy access from airport by train and close to so many parks, shops, sites, restaurants and easy walk to the pier for our ship. The Russell is old and quirky, but our room was quiet, comfortable, clean and... More
