This hotel is perfectly located near Circular Quay. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are great, and best of all the staff are friendly and helpful. I loved the quirkiness of the hotel, the cosiness, and the value for money is excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and I'll be booking next time I visit Sydney. My only regret... Have stayed in Sydney many times but never here before as no longer travelling with children. Great location, easy to walk from circular quay station with luggage. Stayed in superior room with bathroom and it was quirky but good. Had A/C, free wifi and all you need re space, toiletries, bathrobes, kettle, fridge and iron. Not five star luxury but... More

This hotel is just brilliantly located 5 minutes walk from both the bridge and the Opera house and right on the quays. The hotel is very unusual but delightful.. A warm welcome and a very comfortable room awaited us. The location is really it's selling point but there are wonderful things to see all within minutes of the hotel.. Try... More

Very cozy rooms and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great but it was loud at night because the windows needed to be open because there wasn't air conditioning. Overall great location and great rooms and one of the more reasonably priced hotels in this location.

As mentioned in other reviews, this is an historical building. When booking, you need to decide what is important to you and what luxuries you can do without, as not every room will have everything you want. We chose a room with a disability friendly private bathroom. That was our top priority. It had no AC. Hence there was a... More

what a pretty place to stay at! For me as a vegetarian even the breakfast was perfect. Fresh fruits, healthy bread, nice marmalade, coffee - jummy. Shared bathroom not at all a problem. Expensive parking, but this seems to be normal in Sydney.

A cosy and centrally located hotel in The Rocks just opposite the Museum of Contemporary Art. It would have been more of a budget hotel in its day but it has expended and the rooms upgraded so its now a trendy boutique hotel. The adjoining properties have been incorporated which makes for a curious layout and many small and quirky... More

My husband and I stayed at the Russell eight years ago and again last month. We loved the location the first time. The staff are efficient and friendly and the building is characterful. Our room was lovely. This is not a large modern hotel. It is small with steps and corners everywhere and the rooms are imaginatively furnished and decorated.... More

Amazing little hotel with old worlde charm. It's hard to imagine a better location. Cross over George Street, down a few steps, and you are ON Circular Quay. We booked a couple of nights after a cruise to Fiji, and the hotel was easy walking distance - even with our luggage!

I'm so happy I booked this hotel. It's an beautiful building and the rooms are gorgeous. The staff are amazing and go that extra mile for you. The hotel is located in The Rocks, really close to Circular Quay, Opera House, it's a 2 min walk to the train station and the Harbour Bridge, it's in the centre of everything.... More
