My wife and I have stayed at the Hughenden over many years, often with various family members (making a crowd). It has always been excellent. We like the sense of it being the same from year to year, cosy, slightly, ever so slightly shabby, just like a welcoming home. Noel Coward and the 1920's set would have fit right in. more

The place looks nothing like the pictures on the internet. The room I stayed in was cold and filthy. Paid $240 p/n for a "deluxe king room", which was foul, strange smell and filthy bed cover, not to mention the mold growing in the bathroom. I stayed here over new years and found the location great. The service was ok but the rooms were teeny tiny and and very uncomfortable. The restaurant was great but I would not stay there again - the location is perfect but it is not worth the money. more

Our stay at the Hughenden, where we had stayed quite a few times before, was very disappointing. The carpet required vaccuuming and the facilities were very basic.
