I recently stayed here whilst attending a nine day workshop. This Hotel is very tired and needs to be cleaned up. The extras that you may or may not want include stains on the decorative sash on the end of the bed, large dirty stains on the carpet, pubic hairs on the sink, long black hairs in the bath ,... More

this hotel was very expensive for what it was. i've stayed in better backpackers for less money. nothing worked, the fridge in the room was louder than the traffic out side, the bedding was stained, we didn't get fresh towels once throughout our stay and the pool was closed for maintance, which know one let us know when we booked.... Dear Lazy_9 Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay at the Metro Hotel Sydney Central. The rooftop pool has been under renovation and is near completion, this is to enhance the hotels facilities and the rest of the property is under renovation, this will be completed by August, which is very exciting. All of your concerns have been passed... More

Stayed with husband for 8 nights in May. Had a superior queen room on the 10th floor which was very nice and had been renovated. However, a few minor issues which did not hinder our stay but were noticably inconvenient. The fridge cupboard couldn't open fully due to it hitting the end of the bed making it awkward to open... My husband and I stayed at this hotel in February, a short stay in Sydney to visit relatives, very central for everything, only 5 mins walk from train station, next to Chinatown, plenty of eateries!! Hotel clean but dated, needs an upgrade but bed linen/towels were changed every day, couldn't fault reception staff, found them helpful. More

We payed $95 during the week, but price jumped back to $250 for the weekend. Great location, if you like to walk, roof top pool for a dip and a quick nap. We were on a budget due to length of the trip and to get a private hostel room for two was $80+ (a good hostel, mind you) seemed... More

I booked via a wotif $115 for a queen room. Given Sydney has a high occupancy rate of about 85% with an average room rate of approx $180, I am not sure what most people are expecting. If you want better quality you will need to pay more. The carpet was stained, bathroom sink and bath painted at one stage... More

Stayed here last weekend and our experience echoes many of the existing posts. Staff were good. Location is good, being close to Central station and a short walk from shopping and Surry Hills. Rooms were pretty dated, with a bathroom that wasn't the cleanest and could do with a renovation. The bed's mattress was thin and we could feel its... More

The only good thing at this establishment was the buffet breakfast. The booking was for a queen room and the bed was 2 singles pushed together. The beds did not even match. The tap in the shower fell off in your hand. I chose this hotel for its close location to Central station and the light rail. It was a... More

I booked this hotel because the roomrates were on special. The location is best thing about the Metro Central being near Central Station, George Street, China Town, etc. Breakfast and the slow lifts were the worst. I went to breakfast the first morning at 9.20am (I didn't realise breakfast finishes at 9.30) and was still charged $15. The scrambled eggs... More

The hotel is situated in the heart of the central business district (CBD), with the convenience of the Central Train Station to get to Katoomba to see the Blue Mountains. From the hotel, we just walked to Chinatown and Darling Harbour for some good eats and visit the Maritime Museum; Paddy's Market for sourvenir shopping; strolled to Hyde Park up... More
