Basic hotel accommodation in Sydney. Opposite the Capitol Theatre and a short walk to China Town, Paddy's Markets. The light rail that goes past Darling Harbor, the casino and the fish markets is just about on the doorstep. Staff are courteous and professional. Room was a triple single. Clean and basic. Bathroom was a little cramped with a broken door... More

Recently stayed 3 nights here. Very central location, walkable to Opera House (40mins) Bridge/Circular Quay (30mins), Darling Harbour (20mins). Loads of nearby restaurants so pretty handy. The rooms were comfortable but were slightly tired looking. Initially staff didn't appear too helpful but later on they seemed to improve- able to store luggage etc ok. Our room didn't have any bath... More

My daughter and I travelled to Sydney for a short holiday to see the Harry Potter Exhibition. Looking to stay within a reasonable walking distance of the main attractions of Sydney, as well as staying within a reasonable budget, the Metro Hotel Sydney Central came up trumps. Some of the reviews I read casted some doubt, however I was not... More

This hotel is located in a very good location, right in Chinatown - extremely near to food shops, supermarkets, Chinatown shops - no issues finding nearby amenities. Good location for tourists as it is walking distance to some tourists attractions (e.g. Paddy's markets, Darling Harbour, City Centre), and is near to bus stops to further areas (e.g. Opera House, The... We lived at the Metroi Hotel Sydney Central in December 2010 on the first leg of our holiday in Australia. Fantastic location within easy walking distance - (50-100 metres) of shops, restaurants, pubs, public transport and you can hail a cab literally from the doorstep! We were picked up by our tour operator from the doorstep - so it is... More

This hotel has a great location, one block up is a shopping centre with a supermarket, food clothes etc.. Paddy's market and chinatown is in walking distance, as is the Capitol Theatre and entertainment centre. Transport is all around as well as cheap restaurants and pubs. We stayed here for NYE celebrations had no views of fireworks but we were... More

Great value for money. Great location. The bathroom looked very old and used, the whites of the bath were all stained brown from years of use, I think they need a revamp. The main room was good, the beds very comfortable. Wifi was available, but you have to pay for it which was annoying. The pool on the roof was... More

We are regular visitors to Sydney and chose this hotel for its location which is a stones throw from Chinatown, Capitol Theatre, Central Station, cinemas and shopping. The rate for our double room was very competitive, however, judging by the supposedly 'recently renovated Superior room' and overall hotel facilities and services, the 3.5 Star rating is bit of a stretch... Where do I start!! ..Probably better standard in backpackers and that would be half the price, I was there for 6 nights and wanted to move straight away!.. When I first got the hotel I was put into a double room, when i went up to the room, I was highly disappointed! The staff are VERY helpful, and I actually... More

Stayed here in a twin room with my daughter so we could go to Mary Poppins across the road. The location can't be beaten! Directly across the road from the theatre is fantastic. The rooms have been renovated but there is a touch of surface attention only when you look closely at the bathroom with cracked tiles and mouldy grout.... More
