Very affordable at $120 evening and quite presentable and very quiet. Comfortable bed and we slept soundly, however, the place needs a deep clean, especially in the bathroom. Front counter service was good and the restaurant looked appealing, although we did not utilise the service. Room service is available.

This is a comfortable place to stay. Normally used, I guess, by conferences held on same site, but ok to stay any time. Parks surround the hotel as part of the university grounds, so easy to find a nice walk in the morning. Plenty of nearby dining as long as you're not too fussy (in Mac park shopping centre, and... Booked the hotel as it was cheaper than return cab fares from the city to a party we were going to. We didnt know what to expect being at the Uni, thought it may be student type accommodation. The rooms are modern and stylish, hotel rooms that are clean, quiet with great views, quite compact but really well appointed. We... More

Looking for accommodation in the Ryde/Macquarie area and discovered this gem. Situated in the grounds of Macquarie University this is a very peaceful hotel over looking the lagoon, the room is large and well set out, everything you require comfy bed and nice leather lounge, free wifi, bathroom a bit squishy but does the job also a lovely little balcony... For the price you pay for a room only you can't complain if you stay here. I know the area well so for a short 10minute walk to the now improved Macquarie Centre, you can get a better breakfast there. Reading the reviews on here proves we made the right choice as you have to pay an extra $60-$70 to... More

Firstly, this place was difficult to find. MGSM is actually a part of Macquarie Uni, and is a school....as such when I arrived at 9pm, looking for the MGSM sign wasn't enough, and the small sign pointing to the Executive Hotel was difficult to see at night. The room was a reasonable size, although the bathroom was tiny. The rooms... More

I have been staying at the MGSM for more than 7 years now. The staff are great and rooms are good. The dining can be slow at times in the restaurant however overall ok plus you can go to others at the shopping centre close by or others in the proximity. I would only recommend for business travel, not for... More

In Sydney overnight for a wedding, we needed somewhere on the North Shore and were recommended MGSM and it was perfect. Small rooms but ample for two for a night or two any easy access via freeways and tunnels from the airport.

In the grounds of Macquarie University, it is a bit hard to find at first. It was very nice and clean and the room was comfortable with a nice view overlooking lawns and a lake. Not a huge room, but fine. The bathroom was small but looked nice and was spotless. Free wifi was fast and reliable, and free parking... More

We stayed here because it is close to family and rate were very good value. The staff are very pleasant - we loved the expresso machine in the foyer, and it was very quiet over the weekend. The room had a very small bathroom but the furnishings were modern and the outlook over the lake and gardens were very peaceful.... More
