In Sydney overnight for a wedding, we needed somewhere on the North Shore and were recommended MGSM and it was perfect. Small rooms but ample for two for a night or two any easy access via freeways and tunnels from the airport.

In the grounds of Macquarie University, it is a bit hard to find at first. It was very nice and clean and the room was comfortable with a nice view overlooking lawns and a lake. Not a huge room, but fine. The bathroom was small but looked nice and was spotless. Free wifi was fast and reliable, and free parking... More

We stayed here because it is close to family and rate were very good value. The staff are very pleasant - we loved the expresso machine in the foyer, and it was very quiet over the weekend. The room had a very small bathroom but the furnishings were modern and the outlook over the lake and gardens were very peaceful.... More

Excellent weekend rates for a quality hotel in Ryde - north of the city. Handy to motorway that is about a 20 minute drive into town (out of peak) and close to northern Sydney attractions. Hotel is located within the grounds of the Macquarie University. Free parking and internet. Very reasonably priced restaurant. Food quality very good. Service excellent. Worth... More

All up, I had a good stay. The staff at both reception and breakfast were friendly - but not in that annoying hovering kind of way. The room was clean, the bed comfortable & it was lovely having the big sliding door opening onto the balcony to get some fresh air. Parking was a bit confusing - I'm not sure... More

Just loved our stay here, the free hot chocolate and espresso coffee were a blissful bonus. Fantastic ambience with views over the lake and uni grounds. Rooms funky and modern. Very quiet at weekends. The lady on reception was just so friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again, one of Sydney's best kept secrets I reckon!

I stayed here for 2 nights. After an 11 hour drive from Melbourne, I was relieved to find that my assigned room was clean, modern and quiet. The ground floor rooms look out on parkland and a small lake. The breakfast was tasty, if a little spartan. Given that the facilities are run by the university and the prices are... More

I recently stayed at this hotel while on a business trip to Sydney. David, who took my call was very pleasant to deal with and confirmed my booking without taking credit card details. On arrival, David was efficient in checking me in. He also has a sense of humour. The room was exceptionally clean and modern and well cared for.... More

Top location (especially in my case given a conference at the adjoining University, meaning I could leave for the conference ten minutes before it started), very quiet and well equipped, good sized room. Would definitely stay there again if I was in that part of Sydney.

This hotel was lovely. The setting was beautiful - right on the Macquarie campus. Close to the train as well. The breakfast, which was included, was very nice as well. The desk manager was very accommodating and friendly.
