I was ready to leave a disgruntled review for The Westin Sydney - but the situation has been resolved. In short: I booked a post-cruise two-night stay at The Westin a year in advance. The on-line booking required payment in full at the time of the booking. I complied. I went on a two week cruise from Auckland en route... More

This is the first time I've tried the Westin in Sydney and unfortunately it is t the best Westin of stayed in. Very difficult to find as the address beings you up through a no-vehicle mall and one way systems that are quite confusing. Inside it is well presented but the check-in staff were limited and took some time to... More

2nd time is this hotel. The location is in the center. The stuff are friendly and happy to help. Gym and restaurants were great. The comment I have is Re the Internet. In 2016 every hotel should have free fast Internet in all rooms. They charge extra for Internet. ...

I love staying at Westin hotels if only for the incredibly comfortable beds. The Westin Sydney's beds are no different. The rooms overall are a little small, but I suppose that's to be expected in a historical building located downtown. However, they're nicely appointed and well-maintained. For me the best part (other than the bed) is the luxurious bathtub where,... More

Loved this hotel. Other reviewers seem to have had issues with the management and found staff to be unfriendly but we found the total opposite. The rooms were lovely, clean and well laid out. The location is perfect - close to everything and in walking distance. Food and drink at the hotel were expensive but we expected that. Bar staff... More

I'd like to hightlight: Checkin - Fast and Friendly The room - Spacious and some rooms with a great view. This last visit i stayed on the 24th floor and had... More

The doorman Peter was a lovely guy. Knowledgeable about the hotel and what to do and see in Sydney. The hotel is built around a historic building and has an interesting mix between old and new. Unfortunately we sere put into a room on the streetwise... normally fine but on this particular weekend and probably many on the near future... More

Located in the heart of the Central Business District CBD this hotel is a very good example of how best to retain, support and use historic buildings for a modern purpose. This building used to be the GPO and a very airy well planned hotel has been built around and above it. Staying in a heritage room on the lower... More

Pros - Great location, great design, awesome gym, amazing lounge, courteous and helpful Lounge Staff Cons - Rude management and not welcoming, no acknowledgement of SPG Status, dismissive We stayed here over the New Year and requested a room with two beds. They then told us they couldn't two beds and that they'd have to charge $100 for a rollaway,... More

We stayed at this Hotel for 4 Nights and wasn't disappointed with either the Hotel nor its amenities. It's beautifully placed in the Central Business District ( CBC) all within easy walking distance to the Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and the numerous ferries that serve the rest of the area ( Darling Harbour, Manley Beach etc) along with easy... Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
