Stayed only for 1-night (alas) on way back home from New Zealand. What a great find. Opera House, Circular Quay and The Rocks all within few minutes. Staff were the best we have come across in a long time. Room was good size and overlooked the park. more

Sydney has the best airport-downtown connection I've ever seen anywhere in the world. I'm not prone to using public transportation (given the security risks), but the train from the international terminal to Circular Quay, the hub of downtown, takes 20 minutes, it's inexpensive, and faster than a taxi. The Sir Stamford is a 5-minute walk from the train station, if... more

Elegant rooms that are different and more luxurious than the usual hotels. Gracious service. Nice little touches. Great location. The views aren't as good as next door at the Intercontinental or other highrise hotels, but the juliette balconies are a lovely touch overlooking the Botanic Gardens if you book on that side. It's a pity the doors don't open though.... more

We had booked their jet lag recovery programme as we were arriving at Sydney Airport at 7.00 am. When we arrived at 8.30am, we were told our room was not ready and were asked to wait in the lounge for 10 minutes. Within a few minutes we were shown to our room, which was large with a settee, armchair, coffee... more

The rooms are spacious and have good views. Beautifully appointed. Excellent location, (especially if you are going to the Sydney opera house). more

4 of us arrived at the Sir Stamford for our 1-night pre-cruise stay after traveling for nearly 24 hours from the USA. Even though it was only 1030AM, 3 out of 4 of our rooms were ready, which was SUCH a relief. We took our luggage to our rooms, washed our faces and headed out to look for food and... more

We spent 4 days at the Sir Stamford Hotel in late January 2009. I got the room via Priceline for a bargain, hoping it would at least be livable. I have to say, it was an excellent boutique hotel. We arrived bleary eyed at 8:00a.m., understanding that it was unlikely our room would be ready. They welcomed us, and said... more

My husband and I stayed at the Sir Stamford Circular Quay prior to a cruise. Location: We loved the location, as it is an easy walk (a few blocks) to Sydney Harbor, the Rocks, and the Overseas Terminal. Overall Appearance: The building is mid-rise, constructed in red brick, well maintained, and houses a tastefully furnished lobby. Our Room: We had... more

Stayed there over the New Years Eve period, was a bit pricy but you feel like Royalty. The staff were very corteous. Loved the room - the plush Sofa and the Marble bathroom - exquisite. Would highly recommend this hotel. more

We spent two nights at the Sir Stamford at Circular Quay prior to a cruise. The location is excellent, about two short blocks from the warf. The room and bath are very large with a separate shower and small balcony. The furnishings are a little dated, but comfortable. The concierge and staff were extremely helpful. The buffet breakfast was excellent.... more
