We stayed 5 nights in the beginning of January. The location is amazing but don't expect too much of a view. It is a few minutes walk to the bus to Bondi which is very handy. Botanical garden is 3 min walk and the same for Circular Quay! We had a deluxe room with twin beds and I must admit... More

Our four night stay in this hotel was very relaxing. It is perfectly located 2 minutes from Circular Quay, the staff were attentive and friendly and the room was comfortable and quiet. The hotel has a pleasing old world feel without being over the top and impersonal. The breakfast was superb as was the menu and food served in the... More

Sir Stamford is my wife's favourite hotel so with a private function at the NSW Art Gallery, it was the perfect lace to say with a short walk across the domain on a balmy summer evening. We had a balcony room, a great place to read the paper before breakfast which involved a morning walk through the Botanic Gardens to... More

Great location, water and opera house views, central location close to water taxis. Romantic getaway over holidays and a spectacular place to see fireworks. Really enjoyed my stay here. Hotel was full of old world charm with great service.

An elegant, quiet and beautiful hotel located close to Sydney Harbour and opposite the Royal Botanical Gardens. We shared a twin room with a balcony which overlooked the quay with views of the cruise ship docked in the harbour. Perfectly lovely. No traffic noise from our room located on the forth floor. The room was large and the marble bathroom... More

We loved our stay. The location was perfect - 3 blocks from Circular Quay so it was quiet but an easy walk to the bustling fun Quay, ferries and train. It is directly across the street from the Botanic Gardens (free), so we took a walk there each morning. The decor is definitely "old school", but pleasant. Our room was... More

We arrived at the Sir Stamford after a Tiger Air flight from Brisbane and the train from the Airport to Circular Quay. The train cost A$17 each one way. We were wonderfully greeted at Reception by a young man from Russia. He explained that our booked room was not quite ready so we were upgraded to a De Luxe room... More

Great location right by Circular Quay and a nice traditional old school hotel. The room was very sizeable and comfortable. The bathroom was a tad old but the rest was great. Good service - only downside was the outdoor pool which was tiny and cold.

My wife and I stayed at Sir Stamford Circular Quay 30 January 2016 as we had booked tickets for a show at the Opera House. Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
