My family and I (5 people) enjoyed our stay in a very comfortable privately owned apartment on the 12th floor of the hotel. There was plenty of space, and the couch converted into a comfortable bed for our fifth family member. The furnishings were good quality, and the incise placed around the apartment was a nice touch. The pantry was... More

I was amazed to find there was ZERO ventilation in this smoking room, with the result that the room stank of smoke and sleep was hard. I realise that as a smoker I can't expect anything better than basic, but a window that opened wouldn't be hard and to ensure zero airing smacks of vindictiveness by management. The room itself... We had booked a privately owned and managed apartment at the Grand Mercure and were just informed that the managing board or someone has changed these from short term to long term rentals only. I am now scrambling to find alternative lodgings. If you are booked for a short term stay, check with your rental agent. The owner we were... More

Not sure if these apartments are still managed by Mercure. My wife and I booked INDEPENDENTLY with the owner of this apartment: www.sydneyskylineviews.com The apartment is very well located - see other reviews, with all transport links nearby, easy to get to the airport (train + tram) and the views are excellent. We were also treated to a firework show... More

We arrived at about 07:00 and were checked in immediately allowing us to have a few hours sleep after our long flight from Scotland before hitting the sights. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which we found very spacious, maybe a little tired in places, but on the whole ok.Kitchen was ok for making simple meals, why would you want to cook big... Excellent access from airport/to city. Perfect location for sight-seeing - everything is either within walking distance/on monorail/short cab to Circular Quay. Well-equipped apartment - economical grocery literally under the building. Amazing views from balcony - either Pyrmount or Darling Harbour side. Staff could not have been more accommodating - storing bags; finding lost items; getting cabs, etc.

I booked the 2 Room apartment for a few days. I was happy with the room, although not new furniture, it was modern enough, importantly it was clean. The room had a small kitchenette (inc microwave, oven, dishwasher etc) and also a washing machine and dryer (free). There were 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms (1 double bed and 2 singles... More
