I am a huge Intercontinental Hotel fan and the Sydney one comes highly recommened. My first impressions were great - I arrived early and was given a lovely room with an upgraded view. I had booked a Club room which entitled you a few extras, and the Club lounge on the 31st floor. Now they must think this is the... More

I was torn how to rate this hotel. I can see how if you were in one of the water view rooms, you might have had a different experience, but mine was city view and it was good, not amazing. Hotel is pretty dated, but clean and the staff were polite/helpful. Great location for tourism and for business needs.

The overall experience was fine. The hotel locates in the city centre with walking distance to everywhere. They gave us a room at hight floor with great sea view. The bed was comfortable and there were a variety choices of pillows. Not so good - the bathroom was really small... There is a bath tube only, but no separated shower... More

Stayed at the Intercontinental for the first time in many years at the start of August 2014. I was taken aback at the level of service and the friendly, helpful people throughout the Hotel that made my stay memorable. I even filled out the feedback card (which I never do). Room was functional, clean, tidy and with a great view... More

Nice modern, clean rooms, good selection at breakfast, usually friendly service. Doesn't have the 'wow' factor, but a great place to stay for business or a short Sydney break. Free wifi would be nice.

Centrally located, just off Circular Quay, the Intercontinental is an oasis of calm in the midst of bustling Sydney. Discrete, professional &, in our experience, universally helpful, staff are throughout the Hotel. The entrance lobby/reception area (perhaps a little small in the overall context of the Hotel) gives into a large, restful atrium, tastefully furnished with echoes of the serenity & opulence of a bygone... The hotel is located at the heart of the city. From circular quay 5 minutes walk which makes train transport from airport comfortable. Check in was smooth and quick. First time in an IHG hotel, I’ve been completely told about the benefits of my loyalty card. Room size is average and amenities are standard for Intercontinental brand. Try closed pool... More

Last minute night away for hubby and myself. We wanted five star and were happy to pay for it. We booked directly with the hotel. We were not disappointed! The check in manager was delightful. Our room was fresh and modern and the view.....nothing beats the uninterrupted view of Sydney Harbour, the opera house and the harbour bridge. If you... More

Location wise, you can't get much better. City view rooms are a bit bland though, so I am not sure why the extra charge just for a city view - didn't even look over the gardens. Room was nice, bathroom a little old & small - prefer separate shower, rather than shower over bath. Check-in was fast enough, but it... More

There is nothing to argue about the location. It hardly gets any better in Sydney. The rooms are quite small and bathroom is pretty oldschool. Breakfast is average for a five star hotel. Check-in and check-out was quite fast despite a long queue. I am expecting more from a five star hotel especially for the rates InterContinental is asking for.
