Couldn't be happier with our stay here, room was immaculate, staff were lovely even though we had come straight from work and rolled into their foyer in dirty high vis clothing... Their concierge was so lovely, he made sure we had a picnic blanket for our night at the zoo, had a joke with us and just made the whole... More

We had the pleasure of staying at this fabulous hotel during the Australian Open. The location is superb. Our room had a beautiful view of the harbor and the Royal Botanical Gardens. The breakfast room/cocktail area had a killer view of the harbor, the bridge and the Sydney Opera House..... truly spectacular. The rooms were quite nice our only complaint... More

The rooms are small and a little dated, you can sense a damp smell in the room. But overall a very nice hotel with great location near the rocks. Staff members are well trained and extremely polite...

We booked a club room in this hotel for New Year's Eve. This entitled us to occupy the club lounge, this has a Balcony/Terrace which affords an excellent view of the bridge and harbour. So we had an excellent view of the fireworks, also of course the usual club room benefits. Free wine canape peanuts etc.

The service and quality of the appointments in this hotel is up to all standards for a luxury hotel. The staff are charming, the breakfast is excellent and the room and bathroom are perfect. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the Circular Quay, the Rocks, the Opera and the Botanic Gardens.

I spent one night in a deluxe double with east harbour view on the fifteenth floor. The size was adequate but not large. It had been recently refurbished and was clean and well furnished. The bed was large and comfortable with excellent pillows. The bathroom was small but adequate although there was no separate shower. The location is excellent and... More

Spent 2 nights in Sydney for H's birthday and show at the Opera House. Check in pleasant and quick. Room large but a little worn. Bed comfy and decent linens. Small bathroom that does not take 2 comfortably. Over the top charge for WiFi. Buffet breakfast above average and staff great. Had a very pleasant experience having a light meal... More

This is a beautiful old building in the CBD of Sydney a short walk from Circular quay where you can take the Manly ferry. The reception was under-manned and I had to queue too long both to check in and to check out. The room itself was reasonably furnished but the views of the neighboring building were disappointing. I would... More

* Updated review (Type A had to fix spelling errors). I have since been contacted by hotel to discuss my review. That was very much appreciated, thank you! I've stayed a few times at the Intercontinental now (and due to my work, have booked several conferences) so didn't hesitate to book post-cruise over Christmas. I'm not sure if it was... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
