Value and location were first class. Our room was unusually shaped with the ensuite a kind of mezzanine level above the rest of the room. It was perfectly OK, but not much natural light and not a huge amount of space. Included breakfast was good but the dining room had a very dated feel about it. Overall the hotel had... More

The website photos are misleading. The hotel is very run down and shabby, the elevator in particular was very rickety! The staff were helpful and allowed us to check in on arrival even though we arrived very early in the morning. Our room looked like it needed a good clean and new carpet but was large and comfy, with an... More

I have stayed at the Devere on three separate holidays from overseas. Certainly not fancy, so don't expect plush, "honeymoon-caliber" accommodations. But it's convenient and quiet, which is all I wanted.

If you're looking for a cheap place to stay that's not a hostel, this is your hotel. You should expect to get what you pay for. The rooms look like dorm rooms (very outdated, dirty looking carpet, white tiled bathroom). It's in a pretty good location, as Potts Point has plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance. Overall, the... More

Not the best hotel we've been to but for the price it's good. Close to kings cross. We landed in Sydney approx 10pm. The hotel had 24 concierge so it was good. Being in kings cross there were many pizza places to get something to eat late at night. The hotel reception looks very rundown. Desperately needs new carpets in... More

I usually use to post plenty of pictures from hotel I visit, because usually it is really great place... During my stay here, it just did not came to my mind to take any pictures (except one) - the reason is that there is nothing "visually" special to shoot... But... Considering the fact, that Sydney Is probably the most expensive... More

It's difficult to find any reason to stay at this dive. The elevator is rickety, the rooms old and tired, the air conditioning is antiquated, service only reluctant and it's in the middle of the red light district ( unless you like that sort of thing ). I bought the room on price and regretted the decision. Please don't make... More

Devere is not to revere for ! In a touristy city like sydney, it offers you a bed to crash on at the end of a long day. Looks decent from outside but is quite rickety inside. Rooms will remind your grand father of his good ole days ! They need some real doing up, period. Its located very close... More

older hotel 3 blocks from Kings Cross which at one time was rather shady but now not a problem. check in very efficient and the clerk was very helpful with directions and set us up for airport shuttle as we were headed back to USA the next day. WIfi is not free unless it was part of your room rate.... More

The hotel appeared quite up market - pleasant reception area with sofas, newspapers etc. Helpful reception staff, but once we were in the bedroom areas it was a different story. The decor was very dated and in poor condition. Our room had a 'window' which was in obscured glass , the air conditioning was held together with black electrical tape,... More
