The Kings Cross area in Sydney is increasingly trendy, with coffee bars, restaurants and expensive appartments. Devere Hotel is still attractively priced yet on walking distance from Botanic Gardens and thus centre of Sydney. The interior is dated but clean. Breakfast buffet is OK and gives a good start of the day. Parking is not cheap!

Excellent location. Old, need refreshment desperately. Clean. Friendly staff. But for the quality it offers prices must be lower. They charge for WiFi?? Perfectly located since just across the street there is a Pharmacy, few very good coffee bars, branch facilities. A bit further down the street is a plenty of restaurants, night clubs...

Decent hotel for a one night transit in Sydney. Walking distance to subway station, but ~50 AUD taxi fare to airport. Just a small note, the area where this hotel is located is Sydney's nightlife district. Needless to say it was very crowded on a Saturday night in July, but still very safe.

I booked to stay one night at this hotel, however I got the date off by one night as I was traveling across the date line. The staff were extremely unhelpful and would not even credit a portion towards a room for the night I arrived acutely. Very poor service regarding an honest mistake. Not recommended.

This hotel is in the middle of the red light district but at least people watching is interesting - even in the afternoons! I stayed with my cousin in a twin room that was mediocre but clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and are obviously struggling with this very tired and shabby hotel. However, we were comfortable enough but... More

The Devere Hotel is an fantastic hotel for the budget conscious. Its excellent location is only 200m from Kings Cross station and it has a bus stop at the front door. The room was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Woolworths are across the road which is great if you are trying to keep you travel costs down... More

The De Vere Hotel in wonderful Potts Point Sydney is right in the heart of Kings Cross. It sits atop The Appolo one of Sydney's newest and sensational restaurants. Right near The Kings Cross underground with bus routs right outside the door. Very near The Cruising Yacht Club from where The Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race starts and a short,... More

I stayed in an en suite room with my partner. The rooms were pretty clean and the bathroom was very clean. Had a shower above a bath with a toilet, shower and a basin plus a hair dryer. There was a TV and facilities to make drinks. Rather conformable and am planning on going back again. Would recommend this place... More

My partner and I loved here for a month when we moved to Sydney. The service was great, I even had someone help with my 6 suitcases which I was not expecting. We were only booking nights 3 at a time and they made sure we never had to move rooms. On one occasion I accidentally booked twice and they... More

I've stayed here many times and it's my fall back option in Sydney if I can't get a good deal elsewhere. The hotel is dated (including the recently renovated rooms!) but staff are friendly and the location is great being a short walk from Kings Cross and Woolloomooloo. It's not grand hence some of the poor reviews but it does... More
