I usually clock up around 60 hotel nights in Sydney each year and thought I'd share my thoughts on my experiences. Travelling with work I have the option of staying at the Shangri La, Four Seaons and Westin in Sydney. The Shangri La is a good hotel, I've had some great stays there and I've had some average stays there.... More

This is a pretty good hotel. Although it is **full** of American tourists and British business people. It seems to be targeted to the tastes of Americans - and to their very deep pockets. The rooms are very nice (and lets face it thats what you are there for). Very comfy. One great aspect is that it is directly attached... More

We stayed last Saturday night. The room was large the view was good (although not as good as at the Four Season). The staff were pleasant but generally nothing special. We paid only $350 for a Premier Grand Harbour view so it was good value. We were on the 7th floor and felt the rooms were very tired - our... More

We stayed for 10 nights so thet upgraded us for free to this amazing room which i thought was very good. The location is perfect to get everywhere you want, however the four seasons is better if they are the same price i would stay there instead. All in all though had a great time and the 360 bar on... We arrived at Sunset to our room overlooking the Opera House…Oh what a view!! Our room was spacious with a huge bed and large marble bathroom. This stay was the final 3 nights of a 3 week stay in Australia. The hotel lives up to it’s 5 star image. The restaurant was excellent as was the Altitude Bar on the... More

We stayed here for seven nights last December. As many posters have said, you can get rooms here with the best views in town, but that’s what you pay for ultimately (AUD 434 per night). We had a room with the full view over the Bridge and the Opera. We went to a few restaurants for their views (e.g. The... More

We booked two nights through a reception venue for our wedding, the first night was to be paid by us and the second night was a package paid by the venue which included champagne, breakfast and 4pm check-out. On check-in they assumed we were paying for both, I got them to go talk to our reception venue and apparently that... More

Stayed at the Shangri La for five nights on our tour around Australia on a room only basis. The hotel is located in the Rocks, very close to Circular Quay, shopping etc. The hotel is situated at the top of a hill so it is quite a steep climb back up the hill or via steps after a busy day... More

From what I see nobody can fault the Shangri La and in many ways nor can I. We were able to check in as soon as we arrived at 8am which was great. The room was a nice size and the bathroom fabulous, however.........our Darling Harbour view was basically a view of the toll plaza and I felt the room... More

This is a first class modern hotel now a bit older than when it was a ANA Hotel. Location is perfect in the Rocks overlooking Circular Quay. Down duvet, large rooms and lovely views all make this a great, but expensive choice. If there is anything not perfect besides a $36 breakfast it is that the pool is indoor and... More
