Lived in Sydney for 40 years and this is by far the best CBD hotel we have stayed in. We stayed in the Executive Grand Harbour suite and it was the nicest Sydney accomodation we have ever used (and we have used a few). The staff, food, accomodation were outstanding. more

Many thanks for your recent review - I was thrilled to hear you enjoyed your stay with us here at Shangri-La Hotel Sydney. Our spacious Executive Grand Harbour Suites offer fantastic views of Sydney's harbour, The Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour and extend to the Blue Mountains. They also offer that extra space for longer stay travellers, or simply somewhere to...

I'd researched and selected this hotel because of it's location, and the reviews here on TripAdvisor. I've previously lived in Sydney so I knew the location. I selected the Premier Grand Harbour View room for the view and the welcome luxury after a series of long-haul flights. The problems started with check-in - the receptionist didn't understand that "Advance Purchase"... more

I booked the club room with a view of the Opera House - what a great view (but seriously how long can you look out the window?). Very nice comfy room with a nice big marble bathroom with huge bath. I'm a big fan of the club lounge where you get free buffet breakfast, hors d'oeuvres, etc. The only thing... more

Thank you to the author for your review. I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us on the Horizon Club floor. I have worked at this property for some 5 years now and I can still stare endlessly over Sydney Harbour from those windows on the 30th floor! An ever changing view over one of the world's...

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with our 3 kids. We have traveled all over the world and I have to say we really enjoyed this hotel. Great location, great service, great view, helpful staff, comfy beds, and quiet. Even though there seems to be a lot of business travelers at this hotel- we did not feel out... more

Thank you to the author for your review. I'm thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. We do welcome children into the hotel at all times and treat them just as we would treat our adult guests. We realise that the children that come in with their parents today will hopefully be our guests tomorrow. I'm sorry...

We stayed in the Deluxe Grand Harbor View room with a fantastic view of the Harbor Bridge, Opera House and Sydney Harbor. The rooms are huge and well appointed. The hotel is located in the Rocks and we easily walked to all the sites we wanted to see. My wife and I both loved the breakfast buffet. The fresh fruit... more

Had a great weekend away. Room was great with a nice bed and wonderful view...you wouldn't have wanted to have been in the next room away though (19) as you would have had a view of the back of buildings and not the opera house. Our shower drain smelled terrible but guess that happens if they are not used all... more

I have passed your comments onto the Executive Assistant Manager, F&B, regarding room service so that he can look into it to avoid it...

Enjoyed a 3 night stay in March on our tour of Australia. Only disappointment was not being able to upgrade to a Horizon Room, as we have usually done when staying at a Shangri La Hotel. Room was good and good view of the Harbour but not the Opera House. The Hotel was extremely busy when we stayed but nevertheless... more

Loved it. Great views of the Opera House from our room. Stunning bar on the 36th floor is a must for sunset drinks - get there early for a seat by the window. Swimming pool clean and relaxing (and no extra charge as in some chain hotels - tut, tut). Fab busiess facilities - we used the internet for free... more

Myself and my partner decided to do a last minute trip to Sydney after a rather stressful week. We stay in Sydney quite regularly, and have previously stayed at hotels such as the Fraser Suites, Amora on Jamieson, The Westin and the Marriot. Upon checking in we found the rooms to be quite acceptable, if not a little oddly shaped,... more

Thank you to the author for your review. I am sorry to hear that you found the service in the hotel disappointing. I will pass your comments onto the Executive Assistant Manager - F&B regarding Cafe Mix. Thank you to the author for your review. I am sorry to hear that you didn't find the hotel quite to your liking. The hotel has 563 rooms and suites and through the week, my telephone room team get approximately 80 6.30am wake up calls. As you can appreciate, if each wake up call took 15 seconds to complete personally,...
