My most recent trip to Australia was okay, but not as impressive as previous ventures. The room was just average. There was a broken curtain I reported a few times to the desk that never really got fixed. The room itself was clean, but drab. When I called the hotel prior to arrival, I had requested early check-in. While I... More

What an incredibly good hotel. A couple of items to consider. I judge hotels on Many things but quiet at night is up there in importance. This is the quietest large hotel I've experienced for a long time. Quality service. About the bed however. King yes but a lump in the middle, where 2 beds join, with one side having... More

I was very impressed with the service and staff at the Shangri-La in Sydney, they were extremely professional and friendly. I was upgraded from a deluxe King room to a corner suite which was very unexpected and very nice! I was on the 7th floor so although the views were still fabulous, I would have preferred to be a little... More

Popped over to Sydney for our 20th Wedding Anniversary in January. Splashed out and stayed in a Premier Grand Harbour View room on the 17th floor. Amazing 270 degree view of Sydney Harbour taking in the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. A$500 per night but worth every cent. Extra large room with a suite feel. Everything from check in through... Stayed in the executive opera house suite for 2 night with my partner and 1 year old. The view was amazing as was the service. The cot (which was no extra cost) was already waiting in the room all made up. Was a lovely family getaway with shops, restaurants and things to do so close by. The valet parking was... More

Stayed a Sunday night in an Executive Grand Harbour Suite. The views were amazing, even for a Sydneysider who has 'seen it all'. Upon check-in we were greeted by the ever-enthusiastic Aki who really made us feel very welcome and very special. As our room was not ready, we were invited to take our first visit to the Horizon Club... More

Excellent Rooms and Views ! Breakfast at Cafe Mix is awesome! cleanliness is good. In room dining prices are very high - Do not use for the deluxe room there is no Jacuzzi if you want to use CHI Spa book early or you will not get it.

Room spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had booked a Executive Darling Harbour view room, views were nice but thought it was stretching it a bit far to say we had a view of Darling Harbour. Bar at top of hotel with fantastic views of Harbour Bridge, but no priority for hotel guests when reserving a table, which put me... More

I stayed at the Shangri-la for a fortnight, in that time I found the only redeeming features to this hotel were the staff (excluding concierge) and the amazing view of the opera house. Upon arrival in Sydney we were told to just go for a walk whilst our room was being prepared. 6 (!!!!) Hours later we were finally shown... More

I booked a night in the Deluxe Grand Harbour View room for my fiancé's birthday. When we arrived we were told we had been upgraded. They kept our bag as we explored the city waiting for our room to be ready. I received a text informing me the room was ready when ever we were. The room was the most... More
