I have stayed (apparently) at the Kirketon 30 times over the last three or so years, according to the lovely note accompanying the bottle of wine which I received on my last visit. Its small, its quirky, its definitely ever evolving, but its home in Sydney. The front desk staff have changed over the years, but they have been, and... More

No lifts. Small rooms. No restaurant. Tissue thin walls. No porters. Lugging our bags up the stairs is hardly fun, with two suitcases on the floor of the room getting to the bathroom requires some knowledge of gymnastics, if you're hungry then I hope you're happy to head out to find something, and if you like the idea of hearing... Dear Top Leaf We are disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us. It is a shame that your experience was unpleasant as we always strive to fix issues that arise and assist when help is needed. As we are a small boutique property we unfortunately do not have the leisure of a porter to take... More

Very nice boutique hotel in Darlinghurst, very close to Kings Cross Station and many other attractions. Some great coffee and restaurants nearby. The rooms are a bit small but still comfortable. Great for a weekend stay or for city business.

We weren't expecting our room to be so tiny, like wow. But we were still comfy (my partner and I). And the chinese restaurant downstairs "sticky pork buns" (we came back a few times) were amazing! The people at the counter were nice, and the wifi was free. Unfortunately we never got our deposit back until I realised a few... More

Hi Iggypep, Thank you for your feedback. It is great to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay with us and especially to hear you got to try our room service from the restaurant next door, they certainly are delicious! Although you mentioned the sizing of the room was comfortable for you and your partner, we can definitely recommend a... More

Sitting in a one way street opposite St James Church this older renovated building is a nice small property. If your happy with adequate ( clean & suitable ) double rooms that are certainly not the largest ( one would have to say ok ) All the nearby restaurants are an endless source of dinning entertainment.

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Darlinghurst, allowing for a quieter nights sleep, while providing easy access to Darlinghurst, Potts point and Elizabeth Bay. Surry Hills is a 10 stroll away. The rooms are well appointed, with a good size bathroom and walk in robe. The building does not have a lift, ask for a ground floor room... More

This hotel is in a great location but that's about it. The rooms are looking very tired and are in need of basic maintenance Stained carpet, scratches on the walls, moldy grout in the bathroom, chipped cabinetry and filthy windows. Not to mention the noise from anything that moved anywhere else in hotel. Staff were terrific as was the bar... More

Hi there, It is a shame to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us and that you wouldn't return to stay with us again. We understand the Kirketon is in need of some TLC which we are currently working on to improve the overall quality as well as still maintaining the quirkiness of the building. We appreciate... More

This was my second stay at the Kirketon - my first stay was a number of years ago and I must say I noticed the difference in terms of visual appeal. The room (standard room) was clean but definitely looked worn. I was surprised how worn it looked after only a few years difference. Firstly, the positives: the location is... More

On a price deal, my husband took us for an overnighter in this re-vamped old Darlinghurst boutique hotel. The best draw card to this venue is that it houses Eau Du Vie - probably Sydney's most intimate and exquisite cocktail bar. The hotel has had a modern makeover. Lots of mirrors on walls and shiny candelabras. The bed was comfortable.... More

Dear Beagletrails, It was great to read your feedback! We are certainly happy to read that you enjoyed it and that you may be staying again in the future! This is a boutique hotel in a really good location - cafes , restaurants right outside the door and Darlinghurst cafes and restaurants just an interesting stroll away. Close to kings cross station but far enough away from the more unsavoury areas. The hotel rooms are smallish but very stylish and perfectly adequate if you plan to be out and... More

Dear Kate S, Thank you so much for your lovely review!
