We love it here. I sometimes need to go to the day surgery at Darlinghurst, and this is literally 3 doors up. So brilliant for us, being from the Central Coast, to just be able to stay the night before. Affordable city pricing when we have stayed (which is never a Friday or Saturday night, though) and always friendly reception,... More

This hotel is nicely decorated and near the city. Great location, between Kings Cross and Darlinghurst. I've already been twice. I really like their room with a double bed and the dressing room too. Near by you can find a café which do tasty coffee and yummy banana bread.

Booked hotel well before arrival date - was impressed by the initial pictures at booking but once we got there we were a little disappointed (first impressions and all that) Very friendly check in - room was a bit basic, I would say not enough space (we travelled from UK with two cases and could not unpack properly) Thin walls... I have stayed here twice on an overnight stay in Sydney. The rooms have lots of space. Very nice bathrooms and spacious bathtub. King Bed, Air conditioning and cable tv. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay then this is great value.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and had a comfortable stay. The room was clean and had a comfy bed. Location was good not too far from the city and a few nice cafes etc around. Downside was that staff weren't too friendly ( no one greeted you in reception etc) but other than that everything was good.

My family and I recently stayed in the Kirketon hotel while in Sydney for New Years. The hotel is in a great location for bars and restaurants and is also only a 30 minute walk from the Harbour. The rooms were small but were perfect for just 2 people and the hotel had a bar but the noise could not... More

but not more. Location and neighbourhood not very welcoming. Staff at reception friendly and helpful. We were upgrade to a larger room - but even that room was so small that we wondered what the standard room would be like. Bathroom not really clean and modern.

I've stayed here on 3 occasions and each trip is better than the last. This time it was a solo trip for a mini-break to visit friends. I recommend getting a queen-size bed room, not the double, as on the last stay we found the room far too small. This room (308) was very comfortable in size. As always staff... More

Shame to read bad reviews about this hotel as we had no problems with it at all. We only stayed one night but thought the hotel was in a good location just a 10 minute walk from the train station. Checking was quick, our room was on the third floor which was tough with our back packs but the room... More

Stayed here last week for one night after a night out. I'd stayed here about 8 years ago and went back as I had fond memories of the place. Unfortunately, it's not the same cool hotel it once was. The rooms are shabby and long overdue refit. It's definitely not boutique anymore. You'd find a better appointed room at a... More

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighborhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
