Would not recommend this hotel. The staff are bloody rude and indifferent. If I could give minus points for a review I would. Never again..:( The room allocated had a view to a brick wall. It's ok for a short business stay, but not family friendly.

When we arrived to the hotel I was checking cleanness of the room. I found hair in the bed which destroyed my first impression. Furniture is old. They are not serving breakfast unfortunately. Good staff at reception. Overall good hotel but do not expect a lot Good Location near by bar area. stayed there in 2013..

This is truly the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at and I am a world traveler. The bathroom was full of mold; note the filthy shower they provided me (see photo). Reporting it to the desk clerk, there was not even shock or an apology ("the cleaners have already gone home"). The air conditioner was as loud as a... More

We stayed for two lots of 5 nights whilst visiting family in Sydney. Both times we had a one bedroomed serviced apartment on the top floor. It was extremely quiet - so much so that we weren't sure that anyone else was staying there. They were. The hotel is walking distance to King's Cross Station for the train into Sydney... More

My wife and I stayed in this boutique hotel in October 2015. Our one bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor was great. The sitting room and the bedroom were both large, airy and tastefully decorated. The well equipped kitchen and bathroom were excellent. Everything was clean and smelt good. The owner and staff were very pleasant and helpful. The location is... More

We stayed in hotel over Grand Final weekend. It is a great location so close to great cafes and restaurants. Good public transport from Darlinghurst Rd. We stayed in room 203 it was clean and tidy, excellent WiFi. A comfortable and clean rollaway bed was supplied for our 15 year old son. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay... More

Anniversary weekend so decided to slip down to Steak and Kidney for the weekend ( oh and the roosters were playing coincidently). The Morgan is at the North end of Darlinghurst just a stones throw to the 'Cross and smack in the middle of a plethora of eateries and coffee shops. The rooms are simple yet neat and a small... As usual we had another comfortable stay. Staff were pleasant, room very clean, only thing I could suggest would be a couple of more plates just two of everything salad bowl or mixing bowel would be helpful.

Not a five star hotel but for the price who would expect it. Check in a check out a breeze. The room clean, bed comfortable. The room is a little tired, but perfectly acceptable. Shower hot and good water pressure (a must for me). Quaint little touches in the stairways with art and the view from the roof top out... More

The hotel reception and communal areas are lovely! Well decorated! Most of the reception staff were welcoming and friendly, often making conversation whilst we waited for the lift or on our way out. However I must say the room was horrible! Our bathroom was vile and I despised using the shower and was always in and out as fast I... More

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighborhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
