Rydges should be ashamed of themselves for pretending that this is a 3.5 star hotel. It is 1.5 star on a very good day. The shampoo and soap are obtained from containers on the wall. The rooms and hallways are tired and only barely clean. The promo shots must have been taken at least a decade ago (the big TV's... More

Well, they advertised that they had parking... no. Public parking nearby... expensive. My friend parked at the casino because it was cheaper, when we met for dinner. Holes in the windowsill (asbestos, much?), seal falling off window. One cockroach. Dust so far built up in skirting board crevices, I think it had petrified there. I don't mind old and broken... We stayed at Capitol Square for 2 nights. We did not book this hotel. It was booked by our company for interstate employees to attend a work function. This hotel will not be booked again, based on all our employee feedback. The company paid $260 per double room per night - room only. This hotel / hostel is budget in... More

Our trip was booked very last minute however not really knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised. The location was great, I traveled with a friend and we are walkers, with the hotel being where it was located it was walking distance to Darling Harbor, The Quay, train station and of course the shopping. The staff were very friendly... More

I made a last-minute booking through the site and made the payments with the confirmation. Upon arriving the reception asked me to wait 5 minutes. After I was seated two more people walked in before me - one was being served and the other sat down. After 10 minutes where the receptionist was free I walked up with him to... More

We booked this hotel for 5 nights through Agoda. Didn't expect much as the price was quite cheap compared to other hotels in Sydney CBD. Reception staff were excellent, friendly and very efficient. The elevator and hallways were a bit narrow and musty, but acceptable for the price paid. The room was smallish, but had all the essentials: wardrobe, lots... More

What a horrible hotel! The room was tiny with 2 single beds so close together. The bathroom tiles were mouldy on the grout. Very substandard accommodation. Cheap and not so nice, recommend spending more on a room elsewhere...

We were disappointed by the first impressions created by the staff at the hotel. They were plenty rude when clarification on over charging my credit card was sought. Of course they had automatically given my refund as well, so a polite explanation would have helped travelers who have been on the road for 72 hours with very little sleep. If... More

Stayed here for 3 nights to attend some training. Everything about this hotel was just ok. Reception staff not very knowledgeable about local area, however quick to check us in and out. Public areas very worn out and dirty in some areas with a musty smell in hallways and elevator. Room was tiny and toilet wouldn't flush properly. Bed was... More

Spent last Saturday night Sunday night and Monday night in this hotel. Our expections were not very high after reading negative reviews. We were more than pleased with the reception staff, they check us in quickly and with a very nice smile. Even tought the hallways could do with a coat of paint our room (507) was very clean and...
