As a base it was fine but the hotel had clearly seen better days. First floor rooms tended to be quite noisy. WE stayed here in September 09 as part of our road trip. Lovely hotel, helpful staff, good rooms (although we were above the pool and it got very noisy when the party goers arrived back and decided to go for a swim at 2am). Having last stayed at this hotel back in 1999 as tourists we were pleasantly surprised by the new decor and upgrading of facilities.Now living in Sydney we like to come into town and finding value for money accomodation is becoming harder. Just out of the city, with corresponding lower tariff. Room was a good size with great city views (including the Opera House). Room was clean, well maintained, very comfortable bed and nice bathroom.
