In Sydney CBD, handy to Train station, Town Hall, and shopping center across the road, close to Darling Harbour. Walking distance to Paddy's Market. Some shops open till 11pm. Public Transport reliable,

On the upside, the staff are great and the location is right in the middle of the city near Town Hall station and World Square. The staff had even put sheets on the beds for us! (I'm not sure if this is normal or we were just lucky) However as others have mentioned, there's no air conditioning. With a nightclub... More

Loved this hostel. Had some of the best times in Sydney here! It was mainly down to my room mates (6 bed mixed dorm) but the hostel itself is great! You have a bar on the first floor that do 3$ drinks every day and on the second another bar pops up on weekends. The only downside was the cockroaches.... More

This place is okay, though it is above a bar. The facilities are relatively nice and they have a big kitchen, but the bathrooms are just stalls, with showers and toilets in the same room. They have enough sheets but it gets hot during the summer because they don't have many windows. I didn't hear much bar noise at night... More

The world square hostel is situated right in the middle of Sydney. However location is the only good thing about the hostel. With rooms of up to 8 people and NO air conditioning the only option is to open the windows. As the hostel is in Sydney's Main Street (George st) this is extremely noise polluting. With bars and clubs... More

First thing that will hit you is the overpowering smell of vomit. This is due to the bar serving some of the cheapest drinks in the area, attracting the sort of people who tend to drink to much then vomit everywhere. There is a club night in the reception/lounge area on a Friday/Saturday and the heavy bass can be heard... More

I stayed here only for one night. Hostel was pretty clean (better than the average Australian hostel). Safety was guaranteed, because you needed a key to enter your floor, the bathroom and your room. There was also storage that you could lock in the room. There was quite a lot of noise during the night: there is a bar downstairs... More

We paid a huge amount of money for a very bad hostel which was not been refurbished and cleaned for a long, long time. The housekeeping doesn't care about the cleanliness of the rooms and the kitchen and the equipment is even worse, it's quite hard to prepare his there as it is really old and dirty. It could be... I don't understand why this hostel is so underrated. The location is just perfect, in the middle of the city, you have a big shopping centre next door and pubs very close. My room ( female dorm) was clean and spacious. I was in the 5 th floor and had no problem of noise. The staff is great, the common... More
