This hotel is close to everything and good if you need budget type of Sydney accom. The room met our basic needs - the bed was just ok comfort wise, the bathroom reasonable. Not much else to say about this place except it's cheap accom in Sydney.

I liked the place, it has a old-fashion charm. Room was a bit cold but nothing too serious. Service was good and pub downstairs is very convenient ;) Location is key, close to everything without being expensive or noisy.

This is a review about the wonderful manager of this hotel Tom O'Dwier, not about the actual property since I couldn't stay there, here is why: In August I booked for 6 nights to spend New year's eve with friends in Sydney, the rate was considered quite cheap at that time of the year, all confirmed and paid. Then, in... More

We stayed here for our last few nights in Sydney and it was fun. The hotel is located inside of a busy pub, which was really confusing at check in. Also, the front desk staff was rude after losing my reservations. There is a crazy, old fashioned elevator leading up to the rooms, which are tiny but cozy. The location... More

We stayed at the Econo Lodge at the last minute when our couch-surfing option fell through. Our whole reason for being in Sydney was to see the band that was playing at the Macquarie Hotel and it's right upstairs. We weren't traveling super cheaply so the $105 we paid for a standard room was fine and the room was clean... More

Stayed here a couple weeks ago while renovations were happening at home. Brilliant location, and staff were very friendly, rooms are what you pay for. Stayed in a standard double ($120 for the night from memory), view was definitely lacking (not a priority for myself, and understandable for this price. The gent at reception did show me one of the... More

The Econo-Lodge Sydney South is centrally located and close to buses and the train station. It is reasonably priced and the accommodations are adequate. This hotel is full of stained glass windows and the lounge and restaurant are furnished with antiques. The building dates back to the late 1800's or early 1900's. True travelers will appreciate the unique experience.

Outside of India where the term 'hotel' could potentially refer to a wide range of accommodations, I would have to say this was the worst hotel I've ever seen. First of all, my room was directly above the private function area on the floor below and the room was rocking! If you want dance music at maximum volume shaking you... More

We chose this hotel as most others were either booked out or far too expensive. This hotel was promoted on several sites as 3 star - but I'm not sure where the stars were - we did not experience them. That said, the hotel is in an ideal location, close to public transport and shops. Service at reception was friendly... More
