We stayed at the Rocks for 4 nights early April 2015 to kick off our 4 month Adventure as we travel through SE Asia, great location handy to everything The Opal card is a must purchase you can get around on the Buses, Trains and Ferries around Sydney and enjoy the wonderful sites this city has to offer, the Zoo is... Stayed here over new years eve & weren't disappointed. Views from the terrace are great, location is brilliant quick walk to opera house and bridge. Yes it's a bit more expensive than central for example but worth it in my opinion. Rooms were clean and spacious and we had a window. Kitchen very tidy :)

This is the only hostel I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone staying in Sydney. It's not cheap, but it's worth it (especially if you book enights - $27/$28 per night that way). The roof top has one of the best views in the city, as the Opera House and The Harbour Bridge are merely a stones throw away. Also, being... More

The size of this place means it's quite soulless as hostels go. The common facilities are also a little inadequate - particularly when some things aren't working. The laundry, for example, when we were there had two broken washing machines meaning getting the use of one was difficult. Kitchen always busy, kept relatively clean but there was a lot of... More

Nothing negative to say about this place. Really happy with my stay. I initially had a loud room which was underneath the cafeteria but i told the front desk and they moved me immediately. was lovely and quiet for the rest of my stay. Really great kitchen, nice and big and clean. Bathrooms were also very nice and clean. Loved... More

So glad we stayed here! 4 days on our first stay and the just one night on our second stay. This place is ideally located close to or well connected to anywhere you might want to go in the city. Rooms are as good as any hotel without just without the TV. Quiet, comfortable, fully equipped with 24 hours reception... More

To preface, this was my first experience at a YHA, but on my three month trip across SE Asia and this stop in Australia, I have stayed at plenty of hostels of all types. That's why I was so disappointed and surprised by this one. Especially because it was recommended by Lonely Planet. Location is 10-15 minutes from two train... More

Me and 7 of my friends stayed here for 3 nights in march, absolutely brilliant! The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, good laugh too! Rooms are extremely clean, showers are really good, couldnt pick any faults at all! You're allowed to bring your own drink up to the roof top to pre drink before going out, pre drinking while... We used e nights to stay here which locked the price for a dorm bed at 27 bucks and we definitely got our money's worth. Rooms are spacious, secure and comfortable. Kitchen is large, well equipped and spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful and the terrace areas are amazing with great views.

Stayed here as a family of 5 in room 109 for a few nights in mid-March and overall were very pleased, as it is hard to find reasonably priced accommodation in Sydney especially when 5 people normally equates to two rooms. Room 109 had two sets of bunk beds, one of which had a double bed at the bottom, to... More
