We used e nights to stay here which locked the price for a dorm bed at 27 bucks and we definitely got our money's worth. Rooms are spacious, secure and comfortable. Kitchen is large, well equipped and spacious. Staff are friendly and helpful and the terrace areas are amazing with great views.

Stayed here as a family of 5 in room 109 for a few nights in mid-March and overall were very pleased, as it is hard to find reasonably priced accommodation in Sydney especially when 5 people normally equates to two rooms. Room 109 had two sets of bunk beds, one of which had a double bed at the bottom, to... More

My friend and I recently travelled around Australia for a month, we became YHA members so we stayed in YHA's all over, this one is by far the best!! Everything about the hostel was super modern, the rooms, the bathrooms, the kitchen etc. We actually felt like we were in a hotel! The staff were super friendly, easy to talk... More

Hi Katie Great that you liked Sydney Harbour and enjoyed your stay. There is good news on Wifi - YHA is now rolling out a Free Wifi project at hostels. Most of the large ones have now got a free wifi hotpot in the lounge area, and the smaller ones will be joining in as they organise the technology (not... More

A must stay when visiting Sydney. Staying here felt like staying in a nice hotel but just sharing a room. The views from the top floor are stunning, the rooms were lovely too. The bathroom felt like a good quality hotel bathroom. You do pay a little more to stay here but it is worth it. Fantastic location only downside... More

Hi Bethany We are thrilled that you enjoyed our hostel and had a great stay - please come and see us again soon! Just to let you know, there is a printable pdf map on our website which shows the most direct, and totally flat, route to the hostel from Wynyard station. That's what we recommend with luggage. The Rocks... More

I chose to stay here for 3 nights in January based on the positive reviews I had read. And it did not disappoint!! I stayed in a four bed female share with en-suite. It was very clean and comfortable. The air-con was fantastic in summer! I asked to reserve an upper bunk and the staff was very accommodating. I walked... More

Sydney is expensive so if you are looking for a place to stay in the city centre that is clean, comfortable with easy access to public transportations, yet without breaking the bank, then this is the one for you. It is not the cheapest backpackers, but its location is definitely hard to beat. Staff were polite. They gave us a... More

I stayed here on two separate occasions when visiting Sydney - both times I had a great experiences. The place is clean and well run. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It's definitely more like staying in a hotel although in a dorm than it is a hostel. The location is brilliant - both from the point of view... More

First of all, this is a very nice place to stay in terms of location for tourists, right near the ferry, trains and buses which are essential for exploring Sydney. There are also some lovely gastro pubs just down the street. However, a few things make this place not quite as appealing as it sounds. Price, it is very expensive... More

Hi Rory Thanks for your review and we take all comments from our guests as very valuable. In particular, we are sorry that you didn't get a great welcome from staff - that is our aim, and obviously something went wrong this time. We'll be discussing your review with all our check in staff to help them improve. Sydney Harbour... More

Other reviewers have provided good levels of detail about this hostel but it is indeed decent and worth a stay. It's location near to the harbour bridge, with very nice balcony overlooking both this structure and the opera house, is a real plus. A train can be taken from the airport to Wynyard station, which is then a short walk... More
