First of all, this is a very nice place to stay in terms of location for tourists, right near the ferry, trains and buses which are essential for exploring Sydney. There are also some lovely gastro pubs just down the street. However, a few things make this place not quite as appealing as it sounds. Price, it is very expensive... More

Other reviewers have provided good levels of detail about this hostel but it is indeed decent and worth a stay. It's location near to the harbour bridge, with very nice balcony overlooking both this structure and the opera house, is a real plus. A train can be taken from the airport to Wynyard station, which is then a short walk... More

Pricey but worth every cent if you can afford it (as a backpacker)... We stayed here for 3 nights to get a taste for "downtown Sydney" before heading to Bondi for a couple of nights and travelling up the coast from there. Friends we were visiting that live in Sydney commended out choice and could not believe how perfect a... More

$50 for a bed in a six bed room is WAY more expensive than anything else I have seen in Australia or NZ. The location is great, in the Rocks and 10mins walk to Circular Quay (i.e. Opera house etc). Its also easy to get to from the airport (hop off at Wynard station). The open plan ground floor with... More

In the world of hostels this is top notch. I didn't know it was on top of a archaeological dig until I got there and I was like are you sh@#$ting me. Its like dating a beauty queen and finding out she is also actually a good person! The bridge and the look out are right across the street and... More

This was a really nice hostel in a great location. I'm not a backpacker, but I'm a frugal traveler (rather spend my money on the experiences than on the hotels). This hostel was as good as or better than some of the hotels where I stayed in Australia. The archeological dig on the ground floor dig makes it quite unique.... More

This YHA is the best One we have seen so far in Aussie and NZ. The kitchen is huge, The Location is just Awesome and the staff is very friendly. The building is modern, the rooms are clean and large and the bathroom is also more than clean and nice. We would come again and again and again.

I finally was able to watch the NYE fireworks up close by booking in here.It is expensive though,if you get what we did-double room with ensuite and terrace tickets. The view was ok,marred by our position that night in the smoke stream, and we couldnt see the bridge decoration, but the food and drinks were plentiful and the crowd well behaved, and I... More
