The bed was too short (I am 175cm) There were no controls on the aircon - when I asked the reception for help she just showed me where to swith it off. There was no bedside table, just enough room for the lamp. The noise from the next room eith adjoining doors was unbelievable. There was a table and 2... more

After a long drive and not knowing where I was \, I found myself on their doorstop. Friendly reception. Very Basic rooms and furnishings. It was very clean though, and had a fresh coat of paint. The really plaesant surprise was the proximity to Manuka village. i would not take my family here for a week. but if youwere in... more

the rooms are tiny, the bathroom fittings are chipped and all the taps drip. had we not pre-paid via Wotif we would have moved elsewhere on the first evening. the 'continental' breakfast consisted of such delights as heavily watered orange juice, raisin bread that had all the appetizing texture of something found in the pyramids and rancid peanut butter. the... more

Absolutely terrible - 70s' decor, exposed plumbing, very loud if staying in ground floor room. The friendly staff are the only positive here. more

Stayed here for three nights and found the place quite depressing. Would have gone somewhere else but a friend had already paid for it. If you have nowhere to go then maybe. It is very old and rundown. The car spots are tiny. The rooms are uncomfortable. The TVs old with bad reception. The bathrooms are dated and had cracks... more

Worst hotel/motel experience ever. Expensive room for a very low value (165$ for a queen bed). Here are some of the features of the room we had: - Horrible furniture (worst than most of the motels) - Smelly room - Noisy ventilation that does not stop before an hour when you turn the light on in the bathroom - Old... more

Thankfully I only stayed here for one night! The location was good if you wanted to go to Manuka and ok for driving into the city. The room was absolutely tiny, if very clean, and very cold at night, with no spare blankets as many Canberra hotels have. The breakfast was also very basic; cereal or toast for the 'buffet'... more

I stayed at the Telopea almost 2 years ago (very late review!). I was in Canberra to catch a plane back to Brisbane and just needed accommodation for one night. After driving around for a while and seeing everything else was booked out or very expensive, we were happy to find this place which was only $89 for the night... more

Stayed 3 nights at the Telopea recently. What a disappointment. Tiny rooms, barely enough room to put the luggage. Dated decor, TV mounted on wall, no remote, no cable. No electric blankets on beds (needed in Canberra). Threadbare towels and cheap tea and coffee in room. Most rooms have heating controlled by the hotel, so we froze at night. The... more
