We arrived at the hostel at around 4 am and although there was a guy at the reception, we were not aloud to check in. After some negotiations, we were given a room. Other then that, the hostel itself is really nice and comfortable. The kitchen was clean, rooms too, and free tea was avalable.

I've stayed at quite a few YHAs, and I usually like the experience. With this YHA, its saving grace were the lovely people I met whilst I was there. None of the showers are not consistently hot, and the standard of bathroom differs drastically from floor to floor. Level 3 (women's) is old and worn, whilst level 2 is newly... More

we were in a room very dirty, the breakfast is not included and we didn't like the general presentation of the hostel very much. the wifi was not included too and it is a nonsense because it should be an hostel for backpackers and you should have a free wifi at least.

I've stayed here four times, every time has been good, clean kitchen, helpful staff & good location for food & shopping, great hostel to stay in before hitting perisher for four months of work. Also has a pool which I never used.

This hostel is in a brilliant location - in the city centre but also walkable to other Canberra attractions (30 minutes to the National Australian Museum, the war memorial, 10 minutes to Lake Burley Griffiths and about 50 to the national botanic gardens). Staff were pretty friendly, although from my YHA experience, didn't give as much information/tips on check in... More

YHA is great for providing a nice location and upper class schwanky lodgings to the greasy haired, unkempt backpacker. But from what I have seen they charge an arm an a leg for what you get. However in the YHA in Canberra the lodgings bucked the YHA trend and was reasonably priced. The place was very well located right in... More

I can always rely on YHA throughout Australia. While the price is generally more compared to hostels in nearby locations, I have found its always worth the extra. I have never had any issues with noise, and the facilities provided are what you would expect. The common areas are very clean and hygienic. Whilst in Canberra I drove everywhere and... More

I traveled to Canberra for one night and this was a great choice of a hostel. The location is unbeatable. Close to the city centre, bus stops, a heap of food places, Floriade and a only a short walk from the main sites such as Parliament House. Firstly the front desk staff were some of the friendliest peope I have... More
