The Canberra YHA is a modern hostel with nice big rooms, good location and a pool! The rooms are very large with TVs and tea/coffee facilities. Swipe-card entry. The double beds have foam mattresses and get quite hot in summer. The reception area is small and gets crowded easily. Better than most hostels. Good location, close to shops and entertainment.... more

I had a terrible stay here and would not recommend it to anyone. The biggest problem is it is just a huge hostel with a friendly but inadequate staff. The kitchen is disgusting, overflowing sinks, and dirty plates. Then, there are kids running amuck, playing on the elevators and acting as a general nuisance. Two buses full of the buggers... more

Stayed at this hostel for one night in order to have a late night out. While not the true purpose of the hostel (they don't normally allow locals to stay) the location of this hostel is prefect.
