I highly recommend the brassey of Canberra. The service is fantastic, friendly and helpful. The building is a gorgeous heritage icon of Canberra, close to the city, questacon, meseum ect. It will be on my list of stay again.

As a group of friends we dined at the Brassey for the forth year in a row. As usual the place was all but empty save for us few souls which gave the atmosphere an air of neglect and abandonment. Nevertheless the food was excellent, the service very good (after all we were the only diners). Brassey has that old... More

Stayed for a night for business. This is an old hotel which is nice enough for what it is. A heritage hotel so you can't expect the modernity of a newly built premises. The room was quite small by modern standards and the bathroom equally so. The light in the bathroom needed a brighter light and probably a better clean... More

I stayed at this hotel with a friend revisiting after a decade and must say that I don't think a single thing has changed in this hotel in all that time. The decor is old and tired and badly in need of a revamp. The rooms, however are large and the beds were comfortable. For the price I feel it... More

I love the charm and character of old hotels, and Brassey is no exception. I would echo the room tip about paying the extra for a better room; our "garden view" room was more of a "courtyard" or "outdoor dining area" view room, and we were kept awake by the noise of what sounded like an air-conditioning unit just outside... Warm, cosy and charming little hotel tucked away in Canberra with a suburb feel. Overall the hotel has all the basic amenities but don't expect any luxuries. Pros: Rooms are spacious (tv with a few foxtel channels and sport also included, iron, kettle, tea/coffee etc) but definitely has a tired feel to it. Nice warm showers and plenty of tourist... More

My husband and I stayed for one night last week whilst on business in Canberra. This hotel is tucked away in a very quiet spot and we had a large and comfortable room on the third floor. ONE DOWNFALL...When my husband phoned to make our reservation he was told check in would be at 1 p.m. We timed our arrival... More

I've stayed here many times over the years and I live coming back. This place has character and you can sense the history. The stairs creak. The rooms are large and well appointed in keeping with the character and age of the Hotel. This is not the place to stay if you are looking for sleek and modern but if... More

I have stayed at The Brassey many times for business and it probably remains one of my picks to stay when visiting Canberra. Once again I had a good experience staying here. The rooms are comfortable and clean - and quiet. The separate bathroom is a good size. The hot water does take a little while to come through but... More

I've stayed at the Brassey many times over the past 7 or 8 years and it remains my favourite Canberra hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms (pay the extra for a larger room), a pleasant bar and good breakfasts. The restaurant is just ok (and closed on Sundays) but Manuka is an easy walk and has some really great restaurants. I've stayed... More
