$30 pp breakfast if off the street. You judge. Small amounts of everything put out. 1 new staff part timer member very attentive but 1 regular staff member it was a struggle to get even a smile. Cold bacon & coffee. Bread runs out. Toaster had to be fixed twice just while we had the meal. First morning our big... More

This hotel is walking distance to parliament and public service offices, close to Manuka shops and close to the lake running track. Great old-world atmosphere. Good service. Easy, free parking. Rooms have desk for working and good light

The property is average at best, the whole property is tired, and the rooms are pokey but I assume it is heritage listed which does create problems. the en suites are very small and in need of refurbishment. Location is good, staff are friendly and the food was good.

The building is old but the rooms are fine. There seemed to be no other guests as it was so quiet. We had a pre dinner drink and loved the free dip and biscuits. There were other guests in the bar. We dined at a nearby restaurant but enjoyed a nightcap at the hotel bar before bed. Breakfast in the... More

An oldie world hotel with some character. Friendly and helpful staff on reception and the bar area and the general areas of the hotel are comfortable and clean. The hotel rooms are ok, basic, standard and to be honest a little dated and ready for some refurbishment. A pleasant overnight stay for an evening in Canberra and a walk to... More

A lifetime ago I used to work for the Foreign Service and Brassey was the "hotel" of choice where the Department would put staff who were back between postings. So back in the early 90's I spent a pleasant six weeks "living" at Brassey in between oveseas postings. I have long since left DFAT but still travel to Canberra on... More

I highly recommend the brassey of Canberra. The service is fantastic, friendly and helpful. The building is a gorgeous heritage icon of Canberra, close to the city, questacon, meseum ect. It will be on my list of stay again.

As a group of friends we dined at the Brassey for the forth year in a row. As usual the place was all but empty save for us few souls which gave the atmosphere an air of neglect and abandonment. Nevertheless the food was excellent, the service very good (after all we were the only diners). Brassey has that old... More

Stayed for a night for business. This is an old hotel which is nice enough for what it is. A heritage hotel so you can't expect the modernity of a newly built premises. The room was quite small by modern standards and the bathroom equally so. The light in the bathroom needed a brighter light and probably a better clean... More
