The apartments are good ,light airy and the bed is super comfortable. Would highly recomend a stay.Easy to get everywhere in Canberra from here so great position. Arrived in Canberra after a long drive . The receptionist had an awful cold and should have not been there, The apartments are in the building next door ,no information on where to... More

Stayed at the Rex years ago which was good... Not much has changed, room was run down, TV only had three channels and everything leaked in the bathroom. To top things off, at 7 am and 8am each morning there were builders renovating the rooms above us. Couldn't sleep in and it woke our baby each day. No naps for... More

We stayed at the Rex last minute and would only recommend this for a very brief or short stay on a RATE - budget $125aud per night. RENOVATIONS - Property is undergoing a renovation at the moment so understand this before booking... SOUND PROOFING - Non-existent...There was not much sound proofing between rooms or with the room doors and hall... More

Lots of building work - we walked through plastic sheeted hallways to our room, dust everywhere but the room was clean and very comfortable with a very good bed. Fittings all a little tired - hence the refurbishment - but all of good quality. We ate at the restaurant - it was too late to find anything else but the... More

Have just spent 2 nights at the Canberra Rex and I must say that it was very relaxing. Stayed in one of the newly renovated executive rooms - room 320. Very quiet and comfortable. Bed excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed 2 nights of undisturbed sleep. The room was well appointed with everything you would need. All the staff I met were great.... More

Canberra Rex staff, new rooms and included hot buffet breakfast were a great combination for our 3 night Floriade experience. Room renos are ongoing, but noise very low and only from 9am - 4pm, so not an issue. Our room had a corner table missing , but bed/sleep perfect. We walked about 1 km to "Chinatown" restaurants - well Japanese,Korean,Peruvian,Thai... More

Dear Cliff S, Thank you for choosing the Canberra Rex for that special Floriade experience and appreciated very much your kind comments regarding our Team, our renovated rooms, our breakfast and our comfy beds. Dear Loretta T, Thank you very much for your positive feedback and the enjoyment you experienced with our newish and well appointed apartments. Occasionally it is necessary for us to upgrade due to overbooking is certain room categories and I'm pleased that you enjoyed the apartment but I'm slightly confused as to your comment re the air-con unit's location. Perhaps... More

The hotel reception and breakfast is the best part of the hotel. The rooms are tiny! The rooms with a shower over the bath are horrible you have to shower on your knees. I will never recommend this hotel nor will I stay there again!

Dear Renae S, Thank you for your feedback and for choosing to stay this time at the Rex Hotel Canberra. Our current transition period from old to new is challenging and our older style rooms have a love/hate relationship with some of our guests. The rates do fluctuate like an airline, peak demand higher rates, low demand lower rates. The... More

The room is very neat and cosy. I found pillows to be very high for my liking. The room is of decent size. Bathroom was neat and shower is of good size. My only issue was the toilet seat. Once you used the toilet, the tap inside its storage kept running/dripping for 10-15 minutes. This was particularly annoying at night.... More

Location is great, room was a bit dated but we knew that when booking, however it was clean and cosy. The breakfast was ugh! Sausages cold. Eggs maybe cooked a week ago, bacon chewy and it might be a good idea if the waitress pointed out where the juices were as they are up the other end of the room.... More

Dear Mitchyone, Thank you for choosing to stay at the Rex Hotel Canberra, and highlighting your concerns especially relating to our breakfast operation.
