This hotel needs some serious work. The rooms are very plain, there appears to have been an attempt at a refurb but it failed, everything looks very cheap and nasty. The bathroom was very dodgy, looked at least 30 years old, and very tacky. I loved the way they made the bed. Completely lop-sided, it looked ridiculous. Says a lot... More

My first stay at Rydges Capital Hill hotel and overall, left with a good impression. An older design hotel, with new but conservative decor. The staff and their customer service couldn't be faulted and any request was professionally dealt with. Room size was excellent, excellent black-out curtains and the best beds in Canberra, with pillows that actually support your head... More

We stayed at the Rydges capital hill for two nights last weekend. The room was clean and spacious, we had breakfast included which was very good (there was a wide variety and all very fresh). The free wifi was another good aspect of this hotel. The check in and check out process was also impressively simple and the staff were... More

The rydges capital hill has undergone a recent refurbishment and looks and feels fresh and new. The capital and co bar located in the motel offers happy hour every afternoon with very reasonable drink prices with well appointed inside and alfresco options. The rooms are near and tidy with full mini bar. We didn't use the restaurant but it looked... More

Rooms were not ready on arrival, despite confirming in advance via email and arriving 30 minutes later than confirmed check in time. Rooms and hotel was austere, the entire place appeared tired and in genuine need of an overhaul. Certainly would not recommend this hotel or plan on staying again.

I stayed for four nights with my father while studying in Canberra. The complimentary wifi was good to see, as was the large indoor pool (although it seemed to always have quite a lot of people there). Rooms were alright: I liked the fact that the twin rooms had double as opposed to single beds. But the thermostat was an... More

Located close to the new and old Parliament Houses, the National Library, national Gallery and the wonderful restaurant precinct of Kingston, this hotel is central to many of Canberras better attractions. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere with the restaurant setting giving the impression of elders of dining under trees whilst still being inside under cover. Initially stayed in a... More

I have stayed here many many times over the years and have noticed that the breakfast has declined over the past year or so. I like the continental breakfast which used to provide lists of fruits and yogurts. Last time there was just melon. Otherwise staff are fantastic and the rooms as good as ever.

I've stayed here twice, both times in Executive King Spa Suite. The first time was terrific - quick check-in, great room on 3rd floor, with lovely views, and a very decent meal at the bar. Overall, I was impressed enough to book again. What a disappointment. The room was on the first floor -much smaller than the other room (although... More

We stay here often and love the location. It's a 2 minute drive to Manuka which has loads of places to eat and shop. The beds are always comfortable as are the pillows. We don't hear the other guests unless they have kids running in the halls. Depending on the room sometimes the wifi drops out and I have no... More
