We travel to Canberra from Sydney 3 or 4 times a year for different reasons and we have tried a lot of accommodation options over the years. We have never settled on one place because we always experience some little thing that puts us off going back. Happily, this did not happen at Uni House. A sense of old world... More

I had a lovely stay at University House in one of their suites in the north wing. The room was very comfortable and warm with great views over campus. The wifi worked well and we had a lovely meal at Boffins. With a short walk into the city or down to the lake, it is in a great location.

Hotel with great character - spaceous rooms, well appointed and comfortable. Only let down was the breakfast which was rather ordinary for the additional cost...not worth it. Loved the atmosphere and will certainly stay there again.

Overall the place was great, they had parking and internet which was good. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment which was massive. The only issue I had was that I didn't fully read the rates page on their website which said each room is for two people with extra charge for more...and as there were three people staying in... Where do I start...... When I first stumbled across this Hotel on the net I was apprehensive of the cheap price of $150 Per Night. Having always lived by the motto "You get what you pay for" this was not the case here. This one goes against everything I've grown to expect from cheap accommodation. This place is incredible!! the... More

We had a quick 24 hour trip to Canberra to see the William Turrell exhibition at the National Gallery. University House is a relatively cheap and pleasant alternative to more expensive hotels and apartments that seem to go up in price when Parliament is sitting. Rooms are old-fashioned in that university residential college feel, but they are large with a... More

There's little I can add to the positive reviews I've already read. The service at Fellows Cafe is so warm and friendly; the food satisfying and cheap; the rooms are so comfortable and quiet to work in. The blankets - rather than a doona - make it easy to accommodate the central heating (always a novelty for those of us... More

An excellent establishment originally planned for university visitors, I think. The three of us, including our son, hired a 2 bedroom apartment. The bedrooms were of a good size, the lounge room and kitchen excellent and the location among the ANU buildings was brilliant. It is a short walk to the trendy New Acton and the city. The large fishpond... More

University House is our new favourite place to stay when visiting Canberra. With parking included in the tariff and a convenient location it's easy to leave the vehicle in the courtyard carpark and walk to many of Canberra's attractions. The city is about a 10 minute stroll, and New Acton is even closer, with a funky cluster of cafes and... More

University House is charming. The rooms spacious and clean with an elegance about them and everything in them. The artwork on the walls is interesting and significant. The grounds are fabulous and the restaurants food, service and ambience are sensational.
