Located right across the road from Kingston Shopping centre. It is a great location as you can walk to all Kingston restaurants. The rooms are spacious and clean. If you have a car then lock up parking is free.

The York's in a Great location. Close to the bits of Canberra you might visit for work or a holiday there. There's lots of good eating nearby, that range from takeaways to stylish restaurants & cafés. The amenities are just sufficient, but not enough to self cater for a family. We had a downstairs room close to the front of... More

Very pleasant hotel that was comfortable, clean and spacious. Very helpful staff and close to restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A few minutes drive to the National Art Gallery, National Portrait Gallery and Old Parliament House. Plenty of storage space and well appointed kitchen. Off street secure parking. We stayed on a Saturday night in a side street room... More

We stayed three nights at The York over the Melbourne Cup weekend and was pleasantly surprised with our choice. Situated in Kingston it is a really good location. Giles & Kennedy Sts have a really good selection of restaurants and they are basically just across the road. We walked from The York to Govt House and it took around 20... More

I stayed for 6 nights in September. Plus: Convenient central location- Spacious suite that was outfitted and amply equiped for a long stay. Housekeeping was more than adequate and helpful The hotel staff was exceptionally considerate and always available. My suite was quiet after work hours, and I slept well on a comfortable bed for the whole time Minus: Wifi... More

I stayed at the York for 9 days for work. The room was spacious and well appointed. Having a kitchen in the room as well as a laundry in a European Closet was a big plus. Other reviews have praised the location across the street from numerous restaurants in the Kingston shops and I echo that. The other positive in... More

The room where I stayed in at The York was clean, spacious and very nicely decorated. it is across the road from the restaurant and shopping district of Kingston, 20 minutes walk from the Parliament House area. Buses are regular and a trip into the Civic Area of Canberra will take about 15 minutes.

An apartment building style hotel with secure free parking underneath, free wi-fi. Reception staff friendly and efficient. The room we had was a one bedroom deluxe suite with bedroom, a lounge/kitchen/dining area and a bathroom (with shower over bath). General fit-out was functional but cheap, except for the bed which was a kingsize pocket-spring latex offering excellent comfort & fitted... More

Stayed there on 13 April for the Canberra marathon. Internet didn't work and the woman at reception was very uncooperative. She said that because it was complimentary, there was no ground for complaint. The reality is if a hotel advertise wi fi, I expect to find wi fi, and I expect it to work.

We were there for one night only, in a studio suite. Would stay again! GOOD FEATURES: - its layout and generous size. It provided a separate large bathroom and the kitchen and dining area was "out of sight" from the bedroom area. Huge balcony. King size bed, a small desk and a small dining table and three(?) chairs was also... More
