We stayed on a Saturday night after travelling down to Canberra for a family function. The kitchen and bathroom were well appointed and equipped and the top floor 1 bedroom apartment was very spacious. The balcony was pleasant and the neighbourhood has very good restaurants and cafes. As we were specifically staying near Manuka, we were perfectly happy with the... More

Booked for a one night visit and had room 1108.Very comfortable bed and nicely appointed apartment. Little bit of traffic noise but certainly not disturbing. Staff very helpful and parking secure. Location fabulous for eats. Would stay there again. Some building work occurring but not a distraction or annoyance.

We have stayed at the York before and we liked it before because of the room and the location. This time, things had gone downhill. We were in a top floor room, so lugging two cases up three flights was not easy. The stairwell and carpet was shabby. The room was a great size, but there were annoying things. The... More

If your after a hotel with a concierge and thick walls and unlimited hot water then the york is not your destination. Finding the apartments was a challenge itself with the entrance tucked in next to the main building. I must admit the lady at reception was very welcoming and incredibly understanding. Once entering the studio it was very dark.... More

Have stayed at The York a few times over the past 2 years and simply due to it's location, it's kind of become my 'go to'. Unfortunately though, it's slowly getting a little rough around the edges. However no matter how great the location or how helpful staff, if a place starts showing signs of wear-n-tear, it's quickly off the... More

On a recent business trip I wanted to book a place out of the touristy centre of Canberra, so I booked one night here and was given a room on level 1 above the Restaurant. I should have known it would be noisy and it was. The smokers gather outside on the footpath and talk very loudly and when the... More

We have stayed at The York regularly over the past ten years or so and love the location, the comfort, tasteful decor and space. This time we were in apartment 106, behind the restaurant. We know from past experience that it is noisy when the restaurant is operating, but the restaurant was closed during the Christmas holiday period. However the... More

Spacious rooms, very clean and quiet. The boutique feel means less people and more personalised service. Very friendly staff and close by to local shops and cafes. Self contained with everything! I would definately recommend for parents with babies and children. A very safe environment with a secure underground car park.

We enjoyed our stay at The York Canberra, and consider this a quaint little gem of a hotel, close to the Canberra dining precinct, as well as the Government precinct (where we enjoyed a rigorous lakeside walk, and a tour of Parliament House). The hotel is quite comfortable, and has a separate bedroom (king-size bed)/lounge & living areas. Car parking... More
