My husband's business office made him reservations there to start in 2 days. But when I read the reviews and told him how awful it was, he cancelled his reservation and we found other accommodations. This is what was at the top of the cancellation confirmation: "The Griffin Hotel is ceasing to operate. Doors will close on Thursday 7th June... More

We recently stayed at the Griffin Hotel in the Kingston area of Canberra-- Clean, convenient and the friendly front office staff made the stay very pleasant. The one bedroom apartment was very quiet, with a nice kitchen, very nice sized living area with sofas and a desk, good sized bathroom and a comfortable bed. the area is very convenient to... More

We stayed at the Griffin for two nights recently while seeing the Renaissance exhibition at the National Art Gallery. We had a comfortable suite with plenty of room: a good-sized living room with kitchenette, a nice bedroom, and quite adequate bathroom. We like staying in this area because there are a number of good restaurants in easy walking distance. However,... More

Beware! If you fall ill within 24 hours of checking in don't expect the Griffin to allow you to change your reservation to a later date even if you advise them on the morning of your planned arrival that you aren't well enough to travel. Their policy is simply inflexible and nothing will change it. They will charge you in... More

Good location, close to some great restaurants if you don't want to use your kitchen facilities. Reception staff unable to answer questions about local events. No air con in bedroom. Couldn't access balcony as the sliding door locked. Ok for overnight stay but hotel with more services equally priced & therefore better value. More

We arrived with a vehicle and parked it in the car park before taking out our luggage. Took us a while to find the correct door to our block of apartments as there are several and your key card will only work in the right one. Shocked to find that we had to carry our heavy suitcases plus a baby... More

Stayed for a few nights during the week for business. Had read reviews about hotel but thought i'd give it a go myself. Service was excellent, reception area seemed very dark and drepressing but was welcomed by big smiles from friendly front desk staff, check-in and check-out was a breeze. The layout of the hotel is quite different from others... More

Dodgy internet booking site resulted in two rooms being booked when only one was required. Notified hotel as soon as realized the error (4 weeks in advance). Staff totally unhelpful and refusing to refund room charge. Very, very, ordinary! More

The hotel appears to be clean and modern serviced apartments. My apartment was large, full kitchen. lounge with balcony overlooking the internal aspect. For the business traveller, older traveller and any one with physical limitations there are a number of drawbacks, as follows. The internet is wired only and the desk is tiny and thin, up against a wall. Internet... More
