Stayed at the QT Canberra for 3 nights - was most impressed with the amenities and trendy decor, especially the quirky contents of the mini bar. Pod Coffee maker was a real bonus (and life-saver!) and the comfort level of the bed was out of this world. Staff were very courteous and attentive. Loved the ground floor decor, especially the... Edgy realistic photography of world and local leaders, photographers greeting you in the lifts, a great restaurant (hmmm...slightly less that speedy room service), cool well furnished rooms, serious 'can do' attitude amongst the staff. All makes for a good stay. I liked it! I'd say stay here of you need to be in Canberra.

The facilities here are great, I was here for a conference and the service and food they catered for the event was fantastic. The venue is close to the heart of the city and the airport so it's also very convenient and neat and tidy. Very nice establishment.

Stayed here for five nights in a standard room on the second floor. The rooms have all that you expect from a good quality hotel (digital tv, large king bed with good mattress, tea/coffee, minibar, quality bathroom). Desk area is a little small if you plan to do a lot work in your room. Light fittings and furnishings are very... More

Enjoyed the hotel which was confortable, well located and with excellent breakfasts. Dinner that we tried for one night was also good. Our room looked toward the city and was equipped with a shower rather than a bath.

The new rooms look great and have a trendy feel, which is refreshing and different from all other hotels I've stayed in. Parking was easy, staff were fine, price was reasonable and downstairs looked like a classy and lively bar. ...........

I recently stayed at QT for two nights over a Friday and Saturday night, and was very impressed. Having previously stayed at the property when it was Rydges - the re-branding is immediately apparent in the foyer, bar and restaurant downstairs. Upstairs the new bathrooms are amazing - with a nice open shower (with glass walls - no curtains!) and... More

Second time I have stayed here ( pleasure not business)and for the price, very hard to beat. Sure, perhaps a bit too contrived, however the point of difference. Haven't eaten there, however restaurant full and other options close by if needed. Recommended .

Apparently the hotel was recently refurnished recently an it certainly is a very nice hotel. The person in charge of the decoration did a fantastic job. However for me the best part of the hotel was breakfast, everything was delicious. They offer a great variety of top quality products, While I was there I really wished I could eat more.

Dear Clenaranjo, Thanks so much for a lovely review of our property. It is a shame that you didn't get to dine more when you were with us as Capitol Bar and Grill is absolutely divine. Hoping you can try it out next time you are with us. Sas QT More

QT should be congratulated on an excellent update to the old Rydes Lakeside. The lobby and rooms are funky, with a political spin. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is very good, but a bit expensive. There is no option to go a la carte.

Hi ScottT929, Thanks for a great review of the property. We appreciate your note on the refurbishment and give ourselves a little pat on the back on your behalf. Thank you! We also appreciate the notes on our staff and the breakfast offering. We understand that the absence of a menu is sometimes not what people are after for their... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
QT Canberra sits within the iconic Lakeside hotel that has been the scene of many a handshake deal and long lunch. In the great tradition of Australian politics we do business with a wink and a nod and know that after a gruelling day of question time (from the kids or the leader of the opposition) you need a place to put your feet up an a soft bed to fall into. Our 205 guest suites are kitted out with designer decor and all the business savvy mod cons we know you need to get the job done. Expect a seamless technology offering and a team geared to assist you with any left-field requests. ... more   less
